Re: Books you've read in 2008

My finall 2008 book!

The Last Colony, by John Scalzi
Scalzi does it again, with a page turner, picking up with John Perry and Jane Sagan shortly after The Ghost Brigades. John and Jane are sent to administrate a new colony. And I don't want to say anymore than that, since each page brings new twists.

This may be my favorite Scalzi book so far. This merges the exciting exploration themes of Old Man's War -- new, alien interests appearing chapter after chapter, detailing the strange and interesting galaxy Scalzi has created -- but framing it in a solid, well-crafted plot as in Ghost Brigades.

If you're a Scalzi fan, read this immediately. If not, start with Old Man's War and enjoy!

So do I post The Pixar Touch by David Price here or in the 2009 thread when I finish it. I am going to finish it soon, but I think it is inevitable that some pages will spill over to '09. Regardless it has been a fascinating book and an easy read.

Post as you're moved by the Spirit

But I suggest in '09, when you finish it. I'll have spillover and will just go to '09
