I see no reason why you should stop buying titles if you personally want to buy them.

There weren't many announced HDDVD titles that I was actually planning to buy, but I optimistically thought that brisk holiday sales of players would light a fire under the HDDVD release schedule for catalog titles... now my thinking is that any upcoming HDDVD releases will either be rereleased on Blu-Ray in the near future anyway or will be available at an everything must go sale for a super bargain down the road. Then I might buy a few more, knowing me and my weak will power.

Re: If you're red or purple what will you do now?

While I own both players and may still end up buying a few HD-DVD titles and and there. I am basically done with HD-DVD as far as I am concerned they are dead. I wanted to upgrade my HD-A1 to a more stable player but I have put it on hold for the forseable future. The main reason for upgrading my HD-A1 was to bitstream Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio to my future Denon AVR-3808ci receiver. So for now I will just deal with my current HD-DVD player and see what happens. Heck I might even get a HD-A35 once a store has a fire sale and sells it for way less than retail?

As for my plans, I jumped off the fence with the Walmart A2 deal and Star Trek. I've decided to jump back on the fence for a long while. Or at least until Star Trek Season Two is only available on BD.

I don't hold a grudge for "losing". Although I'm pretty sure that whatever BD player I get will have two attributes: it's 2.0 compliant and it doesn't have SONY written on it (hey, I'm entitled to a LITTLE civil disobedience )

Re: If you're red or purple what will you do now?

I have an HD-A2 & about 20 HD-DVDs, including the 5 that came with the player. I just bought the ZODIAC HD-DVD - which I love - but that may be my last purchase, unless there are some REALLY good deals in the future. Not ready to go Blu though, may just keep enjoying how well the HD-A2 upscales SD discs.

Thought I'd sit out the format war, but I have no regrets. In a few years, maybe physical media will go the way of the dodo, who knows? Till then, I will continue to hoard movies!
