Survivor loser says what?
I've watched every season and it still amazes me how indignant the jury members are at the end about how the game played out. They must feed them some bitterness enhancers at the loser ranch. It's always the same drama over and over again, and somebody always claims that they are a better person than the morally bankrupt person holding the million dollar check. That's how you win the game, folks. If you can't lose with dignity then you're just the type of contestant that the producers were looking for.
If you want to win Survivor then there have always been the same key strategies.
1. Make a strong alliance, but be the smartest person in that alliance. The alliance needs to start out big enough to survive a merger, so get at least 5 solid people in. You don't have to be the obvious leader, but don't be a follower. You need more followers in your alliance than leaders. (Richard Hatch, Yul, Amber, Earl)
2. If strategy #1 isn't enough for you, win immunities for your tribe and yourself or at least be firmly allied with the one who does. In the meantime, try to fracture any alliances that you can see. (Ethan, Danni, Brian, Tom W., Ozzy)
3. If failing at #1 and #2, lay low - maybe they'll forget to vote you off. Try to make friends with people in the meantime if you can. Trust and loyalty will be big for you. If you don't have that, at least keep an asshole around for the finish. (Vecepia, Chris, Sandra, Todd)
4. The strategy that doesn't really need to be stated - Don't be a dick or a weirdo. Unless you really wanted to take second place (Clay, Scout, Boston Rob, Katie, Matthew, Dreamz)
5. The cruel counter to #3 and #4 - Don't be too nice, popular, or sympathetically deserving of the prize money. Unless you really wanted to take third (or fourth) place (Rudy, Yau-man, Rupert, Terry, Cirie)
Erik had no real alliance to speak of, but he was succeeding with strategy #2. He just got dumb and threw it away. Parvati nailed #1, and had an alliance with Amanda who had #2 working for her. Natalie was working #3, but then she got overconfident and fell into #4.
So why did Amanda lose Survivor twice? Because both Todd and Parvati were more friendly and flirty with the jury than she was. And all the crazy bitches on the jury were rightfully jealous of Amanda's total awesomeness. That's my theory anyway.
