Sorry to keep beating a dead horse but AMANDA IS SO HOT!

Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08

This episode has some fascinating parallels and they really made me furious. You have Jonathan, playing his heart out, with an abcessed knee, forced reluctantly to leave the game in tears. Then you have Chet, just begging to get off the island. I can't stand people who go to the trouble to be vetted for these competitions and then collapse like rusty lawn furniture and want to go home? Jonathan had been given a second chance of a lifetime to compete and you could tell he was all in. How much better to include Terry (fighter pilot) from Exile Island or even a fan that was strong and competitive. How many folks would have killed for the spot Chet just gave away.

I'm going to join the chorus for feeling an entire all-stars competition would beat this format. The fans as a group just can't hold a candle to the strength, and competitiveness of the all-stars.

Ozzie best watch his back. If Cerie is smart she'll pull an alliance switch with the fans in her tribe, pull the other favorite defector with her and take out Ozzie next time they lose. Cerie is running alone and will happily throw her entire tribe under the bus and go to the merge solo if she must. She is one of the most effective people manipulators I've seen, all while seeming sweet and likable.

My vote for player of the episode was James. That man is a bull, carrying the platform and Parvati through the water. Other tribe coulda used Kronk, but Cerie engineered that ouster to her benefit and no one elses. I also appreciated James comments. He recognizes that he's not the best talker or people player (hence his alliance with Jonathan); he also recognizes that in this tribe of women, he has a target on his back. His only way to survive long term is keep winning for his tribe and later for himself.

Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08

Jonathan certainly got a tough break from that infection. I was sorry to see him leave...but with that oozing puss wound on his leg and pain up to his groin there was never any doubt that he would have to. Too bad....he was one that I wanted to win it all.

I guess Ozzy and his team are sorry for releasing Kronk too early now.....they could have used his strength in that immunity challenge. With James power lifting those platforms across the course like that, they didn't have a chance.

Also......very glad that Chet is gone. They finally got rid of some useless baggage instead of strong, interesting players for a change. Hopefully Cirie is next.

Have to agree regarding an all-stars edition over a fans vs. favourites.....for the most part, these fans are a boring and weak lot. All the strong and interesting ones have been voted out already (Chet obviously not included among them)...those remaining are relatively uninteresting and annoying.

My wife kept wondering why we didn't see Jeff Probst rip Chet apart at tribal like he has done with the other survivors who have asked out of the game. Probst has, historically, shown no patience or tolerance for anyone who wants out.

My guess is it happened...but to simply keep the suspense for the reveal of the vote (Chet or Ozzy), the editors didn't let us see it. Whaddya think?

Oooops! Thanks for the correction on Tracy/Terry!

Most likely......If I were Jeff, seeing that shiftless sad sack in the challenges and at camp would have irritated me to the breaking point. I'd have to make an example of him as a matter of principle - especially after seeing a worthy player like Jonathan devasted by being forced out of the game.

And don't forget his powerfully dangerous medical condition!

I hope he didn't face amputation.

I love the way they made it look like right after Chet announces to the group "Well, I think I've got to go home."...Ozzy runs over to him, gives him a hug, and says "that's too bad!"

Oh....I can think of a couple of things that need to be amputated. He certainly didn't show any need for them while playing this game.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but there was something about a little smirk that flashed across Tracy's face after they lost that led me to believe she threw the challenge so she could get back the numbers. It's possible they edited out the part where they wanted to lift the thing, but she declined (they did try to do that with Amy after all).

The whole fake HII was absolutely hysterical. I loved when they did a close up on the hastily carved face. My wife and I cracked up over it.

I don't think there is any way a group of inexperienced fans could rise above a group of tested and experienced favorites. Throwing in Kathy and Chet imbalanced the game even further.

I just hope Jason didn't get any splinters from the faux HII after he stuck it inside his pants.

I was even digging's Amanda's Axel Rose look.

Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08

Another person who must remark on how frickin' hot Amanda is. Holy shee-it. Woman has it going on.

~~~~~
And with the fanwank lechery out of the way....
I have ZERO access to spoilers, so take this as a guess: final three will be Ozzy, Amanda, and Parvati. Ozzy is definitely one of the top five players the game has ever seen - up there with Yul and Earl.
I was also moved and surprised by how upset people were to see Penner go. Other people have left the game early, and the tribe members haven't shown nearly as much emotion. James was cracking me up the entire episode. I was iffy on him for his first appearance, but have come to really like him this time around.
Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08
Add me to the list of those saddened to lose Jonathan, especially since he was my pick to win.
The frustrating thing about Jonathan was that, in Cook Islanmds, he got the villain edit which he really didn't deserve. And then this time, you get Cirie talking about how Jonathan is untrustworthy, etc, when to be honest he would be the first person I would want in my alliance and would absolutely put my trust in. He's a solid, intelligent player who understands how the game works, and to lose him this early really is sad.
I trust he's recovered from his injury.
Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08
Matthew, I agree. What made Jonathan so much fun to watch was how articulate he was about the game. In the Cook Islands, he impulsively and foolishly joined a mutiny from one tribe, then to survive short term he had to switch again and betray his new tribe. I remember him shaking his head at his ridiculous predicament, having betrayed every other player in the game.
This time, I was sad for him because he found himself in a good position. Having separated from Cerie's tribe and influence (she did NOT LIKE HIM) he had found a solid ally in James. I loved when the two of them entered the fans wretched camp and just set to work building a decent shelter. I'm sorry not to see and hear more from Jonathan.
Exactly. He found himself in a bad situation, having formed an alliance with what's-her-name, and when she decided to mutiny, he impulsively followed her. When he realised he had messed up and now had no chance of winning the game, he then decided to turn those he was in an alliance with, but only because he realised he was in an alliance with jerks, and he basically worked to ensure that the game was won by someone that deserved it. The key to being in an alliance with Jonathan is to be a good person, and if you meet that criteria, he would absolutely stand by you.
The other thing I forgot to mention - how is it possible that Jason believes that is the immunity idol? At first I wondered if it was editing that made us think he thought he had the idol, but he seemed seriously excited. So I guess he really thinks he has it.
Which is insane. The one thing you realise when you watch Survivor is that the prop design is incredibly intricate. I saw a video that showed that even the table where they write their votes has a carving that illustrates some aspect of the history of the area - and that isn't even seen on screen. If you think you've found the immunity idol, and you actually feel the need to say "It's not much, but...". it's probably not the actual idol.
I mean, last season, when Jamie found her "immunity idol", she was pretty stupid since she basically seemed to be assuming that James found it and forgot to pick it up, but it at least was a real Survivor prop that could realistically be viewed as an idol. The thing that Jason has been fooled by, he has no excuse, and I really want him to play it because Probst is going to ridicule him mercilessly, and justifiably so.
Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08
I was very bummed to see Jonathon go. I think the favorites are going to run away with the rest of this. And Ozzy continues to amaze.
This week's episode is on Wednesday night, don't forget. (Basketball playoffs on Thursday).
You won't miss an episode since you can watch it streaming at cbs.com. That's how I always watch them since I only have an outdoor antenna and the picture is almost always snowy or not there at all.
Damn, Amanda is HOT!!!! (just wanted to re-iterate that point).
The fake idol find was the LOL moment of this episode. Can't wait to see that dumb-dumb play it, lol.
Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08
I was hoping for a fake idol chain. So Ozzy finds the real one, and makes a fake. Then someone finds that fake, thinks it's real, and makes another fake and puts it in its place (I think they watched Yao make the first fake one)....eventually, everyone would end up with some sort of fake....Oh well, at least we have 1 fake one to laugh at...
All I gotta say right now is.....Amanda and Ami were TOTALLY HOT in this episode! Gotta love that reward.
Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08
I've always been a big Ami fan! Interesting to see she has changed jobs. She was listed as a coffee barista during Vanuatu. Now, she's a nanny!
Again, Probst (it seems) let Kathy off pretty easy. He used to be so tough on anyone who wanted to "lay down their torch." I know she was hysterical...but, c'mon!
I also thought Cirie might have made a misplay when she tried to convince Amanda that Ozzy is only looking out for himself. Bold move. I was hoping it would work against her.
Interesting that there are so few guys left in this game. I was thinking tonight that James must be going crazy being with that pathetic tribe he's on now. "On TV, they only show you the rain for, like, thirty seconds!"
Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08
Oh, gosh, Patrick. I know I couldn't do it.
But anyone who signs up should have a clue. She said one of the reasons she did it was so her sister could live vicariously through her?! She did it for her husband? Not good reasons to make such a drastic commitment. For someone who professed to be such a fan of the game, she sure didn't seem to understand it (know it) too well.
Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08
I was thinking the exact same thing while I was watching this episode listening to Kathy go on about how difficult it is out there. I'm a grumpy bastard when I don't get ONE good night's sleep so weeks of no sleep, insane temperatures, bugs, rats, bats, crabs, no food, no showers, etc. would be more than I could ever handle. Then again, think about how much worse it is for the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan who have to survive most of those aforementioned things and then worry about getting killed on top of that. Bottom line: I'm not cut out for Survivor or the military.
Re: Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Faves) Premieres 2/7/08
Yeah, really my main point is that it seems (from the editing) that Jeff let Chet and Kathy off pretty easy based on prior history. It was like he used to take it personally when people didn't stick it out.
But, then again, my wife says she was reading a Survivor forum/blog (sorry I don't know which one) in which it was reported that Chet's injuries were much worse than what was shown. Apparently he was also treated on-site by medics (not shown) and required hospital treatment at the same place Jonathan did (confirmed by Jonathan).
So, who knows?
I wonder if the people who choose players do any psychological evaluations of prospective contestants to determine if they are capable of handling the hardships involved in the game? You'd think they would do that, right?
As for Tracy getting voted out.....excellent! I couldn't stand her constant nagging.....now I hope Cirie gets the boot next.
Looking at the previews for next week, seeing that footage of Eric smacking chest first into the platform like that can't be good.
I always wonder what the other players are thinking (on any of these ‘vote someone off’ shows) when that charge is leveled against another player. After all, everyone is looking out for themselves, and Cirie perhaps even more than anyone.
This season more than most has seen the demise of physically strong players. True enough, James seems to be on a pathetic team, but they are still winning the elimination challenges.
I am thinking broken rib(s) at the minimum - that looked absolutely brutal.
Glad that Tracy got the boot - her "big guns" will be missed simply for the distraction factor (talk about yer marble busts) but I began to really dislike her "game playing" style.
