Anybody recommend Athena

Hi, I am new here and was wondering if any of you have any experience with the WS series speakers offered from Athena. Specifically the WS-100.

The speakers primary use would be for HT , in a 7.1 system in conjunction with in ceiling and in wall speakers for the balance of the system.

Thanks in advance

Re: Anybody recommend Athena

in general, yes, i can say i recommend athena speakers. i usually recommend the audition series (AS-xx) for their outstanding value. the WS series are not such a great value IMO but may well be worth it if you like their particular sound and or they fit your other (wife, decor) needs.

Could you ellaborate a little bit..... do the WS sound different?

I have the WS-60 for a centre channel and it works really well. I can get the Ws-100 for $430 shipped to my door right now.

you are right though my wife likes how they look myself I couldn't care less as long as they sound as nice or nicer than my old pro-linear towers.

Re: Anybody recommend Athena

I Currently have a complete WS 5.1 set up and i absolutely love it. Imaging is far better than i expected and the front/centers blend seemlessly. Get a good sub though and cross it over at 100hz. I tried mine at 80 hz but had a bit of a mid bass hole. Didn't get the athena sub though-heard that the bash amps don't last very long.
