I set up my family room with a dedicated tv wall. Behind the wall is a room so I have access to the back of the components, tv and speakers. I want to flush mount a 50" flat panel to the wall rather than hang it on the wall but I haven't figured out yet how to secure it without using the tv stand.
If I use the tv stand, it can't be flush mounted as the stand sticks out well in front of the tv. If I don't use the tv stand, I'm not sure how it can be secured for a flush mount installation. I originally had planned for a rear projection dlp, so I built a 2x4 tv stand behind the wall to hold the tv. Given the cabinet design (width) of a rear projection it would work perfectly. How can I make it work for a flat panel?
* This picture shows the primary tv wall. I will put shelving in the opening at the bottom for components and will cut a hole in the drywall just above that for the tv screen. The second picture is looking through the door at the "component" room. It's the back of the wall in the first picture.
