Questions Regarding Sharp 9000 and Denon 5803

Since neither the Sharp 9000 nor the Denon 5803 have HDMI connectors, will I be able to play HD-DVD or BluRay with that system? I had heard that the RGB connectors would support HD, but then I also read that HDMI is neccessary.

There is no upgrade path for the Denon 5803 and the Sharp 9000 projector to support HDMI short of replacing both of them.

I'm looking at getting the LG or the Toshiba dual (HD-DVD/Blu-Ray) players. They both have RGB connectors.

Is HDMI a requirement for high def dvd? I have been playing high def cable just fine with the same setup.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Questions Regarding Sharp 9000 and Denon 5803

hi
Just connect with the component (RBG colored) cables and run the player at 1080i output.
HDMI would also enable you to decode the newest audio formats with a newer receiver however, dts / DD via the digital output will still sound pretty darn good.

Great. I just wanted to verify that. Thanks for clarifying that for me!
