Re: need help?? noob here

The Omnisat/Denon combo is much better than the Bose. Bose does not have a very good name here or at most forums due to:

1) No specs released for their systems.
2) No real subwoofer (they call it a "Bass Module").
3) Big holes in frequency response.
4) Proprietary wiring schemes in some systems (everything routed through Bass Module).
5) Poor cost/performance ratio.

Etc., etc., etc.

Re: need help?? noob here

"No highs, no lows - it must be Bose."

They made their rep turning out some really good speakers in the 70s and 80s, and have been coasting on the name ever since. A triumph of marketing over design. Some of the stuff they make is still good (individual speakers, headphones, I know people who love the Acoustic wave systems for offices and the like) but most of it is seriously over-priced. Especially in the overall home theater area, and HTiB in particular, you can almost always get more bang for the buck with other brands that also adhere to common industry standards and not so prone to proprietary gimmicks.

Regards,

Joe
