Motorolla has a new STB with HDMI outputs which may be the panacea for our STB HDMI/HDCP issues.
Any of you who have gone through the nightmares of handshake issues with the DCT6200 and others as well as lack of firmware updates, CSR/TSR ignorance (you usually know more about CATV systems than THEY do), and the blood pressure raising problems of spending sometimes thousands of dollars in HT hardware to play HD programming through your HT receiver rather than a workaround.
I picked up my new DCH6200 on friday. They only come in non-DVR.

The only problem is that my SP4805 was sent to repair on the same trip to swap my STB so I can't tell you how it works on the HDMI to DVI-M connection between my JVC-RX-D402b and the SP4805. (I have a light tube problem).
I started this thread in the hopes that all will be ok with my system and that this may offer a glimmer of hope for those who must use a workaround rather than the full capabilities of their HT receiver.
Anybody else get the new Moto? What is your experience like? Do you have any issues? (ie, Firewire not enabled for outboard DVR capability, handshake, HD programming issues...[edit] My 3200 will NOT output over 420p. I need to check the cables before I post anything more...my SP4805 came back with another light tunnel issue and they are exchanging it. [edit]
Remember. If you have a 6200 the same remote works with the 3200 so just swap the box and leave the power cables and remote at home.
The method for setting up the definition is the same. Power off the STB, hit menu on the remote and select your settings.
To access the diagnostics screen, power off the STB, press power twice and then ok/select. The diagnostics screen will pop up. d11 will tell you your port status...ie if Firewire/1394 is enabled so you can hook the 3200 up to your PC and record shows to your PC HD, or if your HDMI is active.
