NHT vs Paradigm vs Def Tech

current setup:

speaker: wharfedale 8.2 (2) nht classic three c (1)

subwoofer: earthquake supernova MKIV-10

receiver: cambridge audio 540r (100w x 5.1/85w x 6.1)
harman kardon HK3480 (125w x 2)

originally i was planning on purchasing a pair of NHT classic 3 & nht classic four and bi amping them with the hk3480 but didnt know if that was possible. after reading several reviews i am becoming more and more hesitant that this is the setup for me. my ideal speaker system would be less than $2000 but am willing to spend more if needed. the system will mostly be used for movies/games. performance is my main concern.

thank you for your time and help, it is greatly appreciated

Re: NHT vs Paradigm vs Def Tech

I have the Classic 3's and you cannot bi-amp them. I've bi-amped other speakers in the past and I didn't honestly hear a differenc. But that's just me, and it could be my lack of high-end gear upstream.

However, aside from the 86dB sensitivity that challenges my cheapo Onkyo receiver with some movies (but not music, strangely), I love em. And actually I think it's the center that is the real challenge, so if you run that fine now, then that won't be a problem for you.

sorry, i typed that wrong, i meant bi amp the classic fours. i havent received the classic three c yet i just purchased it online due to its low price and great reviews. hopefully the 100W from my receiver will be enough to power the 200w center speaker.
