HDTV Calibration Disc

Thread Starter
I like to use a calibration disc to set color, contrast, etc. on my TV. In the past, this has been for a CRT with much success. Now that I have an HDTV I would like to do the same.

I understand that if I had an HD DVD or Blu-ray box, I would buy the corresponding calibration disc format to calibrate my HDTV, a no brainer. But since I am doing upconversion, what is the best approach to calibrate my HDTV? Could I use a SD calibration disc upconverted to 720P to calibrate my 720p HDTV? Thanks.

Re: HDTV Calibration Disc

I don't have any experience with it myself, but the HD-DVD Digital Video Essentials disc is a combo HD-DVD/DVD. Perhaps the DVD disc in that set would be the appropriate source for calibrating an HDTV without a high-def player.
