Yeah, I'm not sure what the clerk did. He rang the two discs up and gave me a total to pay (it was $65 or whatever the two discs would have come to after tax), and it was at that point that I mentioned the BOGO sale and showed him the weekly ad.
A similar thing happened when I bought my Blu-Ray player a week or two ago at the same Best Buy. It came with a free copy of "Spider Man 3", so I grabbed it and took it with me when I brought the player to the checkout. They rang that up for $29.99 and I had to tell them it came free with the player. I also had a 12% off coupon to use for the player itself, and the coupon wouldn't work either. They tried to tell me it wasn't good for Blu-Ray players, but I pointed out on the coupon that it specifically said it was good for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray players. So they manually took the 12% off.
This location is weird sometimes. They often put new releases out and tag them both on the product and on the shelf with the post-first week price on them (which is still below list price, but higher than the first week price). The stuff rings up for the right price, but they sometimes tag both the item and and the shelf with a higher "discounted" price, which I would think would deter some people from buying the stuff. The stuff is often tagged at the higher price, but it's usually at least tagged on the shelf with the low first week price. But sometimes not at this store. Weird.
