Arctic Tale
Bourne Ultimatum
Blades Of Glory
I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry
Knocked Up: Unrated
Disturbia
Mr. Bean’s Holiday
Shrek The Third
Evan Almighty
Transformers

Here's the Blu-ray BOGO titles as well:

Ocean's Thirteen
Underworld: Evolution
The Departed
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
300
Crank
Hostel Part II
The Condemned
28 Weeks Later
Spider-Man 3
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Are We Done Yet?
Mr. Brooks
Saw III

If you order online and do in-store pick-up, you can't mix and match HD DVD and Blu-ray BOGO titles. I think you should be able to do in-person purchases that allow for mixing between HD DVD and Blu-ray BOGO titles.

Re: Best Buy HD-DVD Blu-ray BOGO Sale 12/16/07

I put my order at bestbuy.com to pick up at store, just in case. I got there and picked them up at the customer service counter. Before leaving the store I looked in the bad and they had pulled the DVD's of each movie. So.... I went back to the counter to the HD-DVD's and since they did not pull the order correctly they gave me a $10 gift card. Sweet.

If anyone manages to mix HD-DVD and BD in a single order, please let us know. . .

Re: Best Buy HD-DVD Blu-ray BOGO Sale 12/16/07

Someone else mentioned this in the Weekly Roundup thread, but while I'm thinking most are wondering about combining HD-DVD and BD for an online order, I was able to mix the two formats when I went in-store and purchased two discs.

I wanted to get "The Bourne Ultimatum" and "Ocean's Thirteen", and since the HD-DVD of "Oceans' Thirteen" was $5 more, I decided to go with the Blu-Ray version. I wanted to do this online but couldn't, and the Best Buy website was showing that my local store only had the HD-DVD version of "Ocean's.." in stock. But I went down to the store anyway, and they still had one copy of the Blu-Ray version. So I got the two for $30 instead of $35. When they rang up the sale, it did not automatically discount the second disc. I had to tell them (and show them with the weekly ad) that it was a BOGO sale, and then they discounted the second disc without a problem.

Cool. I think I'll just drop by after work. Last night my local store was showing out of stock on one of the discs I wanted (for in-store pickup), but now it's back in stock. (It was in stock on Saturday night -- go figure.)

Sounds like the clerk didn't go the end of the transaction. I was able to mix Bourne Ultimatum & Spider-Man 3 with no problem yesterday instore. But it doesn't show up until its time to pay.

Re: Best Buy HD-DVD Blu-ray BOGO Sale 12/16/07

Same here -- last night I picked up Crank and Transformers. The b1g1 deal message did show up on the register, but not until the final step of the transaction.

Spent a heck of a time trying to find Crank -- it was gone from the regular BD section, but on the shelf in the TV department. I somehow forgot about all the BD and HD-DVD displays they keep over there! The store was so packed it took a while for me to find a clerk to ask.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the clerk did. He rang the two discs up and gave me a total to pay (it was $65 or whatever the two discs would have come to after tax), and it was at that point that I mentioned the BOGO sale and showed him the weekly ad.

A similar thing happened when I bought my Blu-Ray player a week or two ago at the same Best Buy. It came with a free copy of "Spider Man 3", so I grabbed it and took it with me when I brought the player to the checkout. They rang that up for $29.99 and I had to tell them it came free with the player. I also had a 12% off coupon to use for the player itself, and the coupon wouldn't work either. They tried to tell me it wasn't good for Blu-Ray players, but I pointed out on the coupon that it specifically said it was good for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray players. So they manually took the 12% off.

This location is weird sometimes. They often put new releases out and tag them both on the product and on the shelf with the post-first week price on them (which is still below list price, but higher than the first week price). The stuff rings up for the right price, but they sometimes tag both the item and and the shelf with a higher "discounted" price, which I would think would deter some people from buying the stuff. The stuff is often tagged at the higher price, but it's usually at least tagged on the shelf with the low first week price. But sometimes not at this store. Weird.

Re: Best Buy HD-DVD Blu-ray BOGO Sale 12/16/07

When I called the 'Best Buy' in Ithaca, NY to inquire about the BOGO deal they said it was on but said that, 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' and 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' were not part of the deal. When I told them that on their website the titles were listed as part of the deal, they said to bring a printout. Anyhow, at the store they actually charged for the lower priced 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' and counted the higher priced 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' as the free title.

Sanjay: I got the same two BD titles in the deal...Mr. & Mrs. Smith and HP/Order of the Phoenix! But, they charged me for the most expensive one.

You must have really liked the sale to travel all the way from Gurgaon to Ithaca to get those discs! My daughter just graduated from Cornell in June.

You know even as I was typing my post, I had realized that those who read it, might be confused by where I live and that the post makes it sound like I went to the store myself to buy the Blu-Ray discs. Anyhow to clarify, I did make the call to 'Best Buy' myself, but it is my brother-in-law (wife's brother), currently doing his Masters in Electrical Engineering at Cornell, who went to the store and bought the titles for me, in addition to a 80GB PS3 (2nd one, for my son's room). A college friend of his is travelling to India for the winter break and it is he who will be carrying the PS3 and these Blu-Ray titles, amongst other titles bought in B1G1F sales on Amazon, to me. My new title, pre-order purchases are supplied to me directly by a wholesaler in the US, but for sale's and other 'post release date' titles, I am dependent on friends to buy and send to me as and when someone travels to India.

Nice brother-in-law!

Heck, Ithaca is even a three-hour-plus drive from where I am in upstate New York!

Congrats, Mike, for your daughter's graduation -- I'm a Cornell alum myself.

Thanks, Man-Fai!

She graduated. Then got married the following weekend (!) to another Cornell graduate (of this year) and they are now embarked on the big adventure of married life and facing the world together in Virginia.

What a week that was!

Re: Best Buy HD-DVD Blu-ray BOGO Sale 12/16/07

This HD-DVD sale is still in effect, with a greatly expanded selection online.

EDIT: Sorry, it's now B2G1...but it seems to cover most HD-DVD titles.
