Best Bluetooth Cell Phone Headset?

I bought a Jabra JX-10, but everyone hates to converse with me on it, because it picks up so much background noise.

I can't find a headset with a long mouth boom that is also bluetooth, and I really hate the wire.

Looking at reviews, it seems that the two that keep coming up for good sound quality and noise reduction are the BlueAnt Z9, and the Jawbone, though the Jawbone has more consistent good reviews, and seems to fit a wider variety of ears.

Anyone familiar with these two, or have a bluetooth headset that has great noise reduction?

Hey Buzz, I had a thread on this very subject way back when here somewhere and have not, as of yet, decided on one for my wife and myself but I too was getting good feedback on the JawBone. The reviews on Amazon, Best Buy, etc. all seem 90% good but a co-worker had one and at first loved his but quickly found problems with fitment and ergonomics; the answer/end button is built into the plastic "cheese grater" covering and he claimed that it required a good push and would push the earpiece further into his ear canal and the ear loop broke.
I was going to get the Motorola 700 at BB at black friday for half off but they are no longer running the sale. I am still shopping so i'll keep an ear out for you.

I went through about 3 headsets for the reason you describe before I found the Plaintronics Voyager 510. It can be had for about $50 on Amazon. It is not really a long boom you want, but rather a headset with noise cancellation or in the case of the Voyager 510, a "directional" and NOT omni-directional mic. A directional mic will only pic up sound in the direction it is pointed at and not everything all around you.

The Voyager is probably not as good as the jawbone headset...but it is also not nearly as expensive and yet it is the only one where people stopped complaining to me about what I sounded like while talking on it. So...I have happily stuck with it for over a year now. It also has a piece that goes in your ear canal a bit, so the volume is loud and clear...and yet it hangs over the back of the ear...so there it little ear fatigue when wearing it. It is supported well over the ear.

I have a Jabra BT150. It is my third bluetooth headset and the only one I've been happy with. I can't speak to the JX-10, but no one has ever complained about the sound quality on my Jabra. I also prefer the controls to the two Motorola headsets I had previously. (One was bundled with my phone package, the other I bought. Each had a retail price more than twice what I paid for the BT150.)

Ok, I just got the Jawbone for my wife for Christmas so I won't really be able to give you a review till after the 25th. Best Buy reduced the price to $99.99 and with an extra 12% off by being a rewards member brought it down to $87.99, I couldn't pass it up for that.
Joseph, I saw the BT150 there and I thought it might be a decent one, since I don't use one as much, I may give it a try.

I put it on my wish list, too. I might have a review after the 25th as well!

Woo-hoo! Got my Jawbone and charged and paired that baby!

Preliminary tests seem to indicate that the Jawbone sounds "way better" (actual quote from test subject) than my old Jabra JX-10.

The red color makes it look like a Corvette is tearing ass around my head, too. Coolness!

Yeah i'm wearing my wife's in my ear at the moment, I have just paired it with her Razr and am waiting for her to get off the phone with her mom so we can call each other. The red is pretty cool, right now it is blinking white occasionally, ready to test, if only she would get off the phone (sigh!)

Ok, I do not have any reference as this is our first bluetooth but so far we both love it! I can not wait to set up the voice dial so she can really go hands free but we are hosting yet another gathering over here in 45 min. so that will have to wait. I'm thinking that will be a long process anyway.

Yeah the red is sharp. She wanted black. It matches her hair and is largely unnoticable except for the white light blinking.
