Hey guys, I'm new to these boards, but I was just wondering since I haven't been able to make it to a Sam's Club since this box set was released. Does anyone know if the box set is still currently around $30? Thanks alot for the help.

Yes, it is. Sam's doesn't reprice items after release week.

thanks guys for the replies. hopefully i will be able to pick one up at my sams when i finally get around to going. im still making my way through the tough guys set which i bought when it first came out lol...i just havent had time to really watch all of them.

You might want to hurry, though. Sam's doesn't carry many copies and only for a limited amount of time.

I don't know about elsewhere, but the Sam's in South Bend had lots of Bette Davis sets yesterday, plus a few each of Gangsters #1-2. No #3 (although they may have already sold out) and no Musicals.

The local Costco has Gangsters One, Two and Three for $29. each. And the WBHV Bette Davis Three for $40. They do not appear to have the Fox Bette Davis Collection. At other retailers, the latter does not seem to be selling as well as the set from WBHV. There is no Sam's Club in my area.

My Sam's sold out of Gangster 3 within a couple of days of release date; that price was too good. Interestingly my Costco had Gangster 3 for $39.99 (same as Davis 3) but 1/2 for $10 cheaper. Go figure?

Costco has been rather erratic lately with WHV releases. There was a time when virtually all WHV box sets could be found on release date. Now it seems to be the exception rather than the rule when one shows up. I can usually count on at least the more popular Fox boxes showing up.

I wish Costco would get the Stanwyck and Garland/Rooney sets. Those are the ones I really want a deal on.

Watched Cagney's Picture Snatcher with my mom last night; what a terrific pre-Code movie, and one I'd never even heard of before. It's racy and solid fun from start to finish, and like the others in the set a gorgeous print.
