I lost my DVD database!

I used to keep an meticulously updated database of all those R1 and R2 DVDs of films which were of interest to me - released between the dawn of the DVD format to those announced upcoming titles - but, following a recent computer crash, I lost the whole damn thing!

So, what is the easiest and yet most trustworthy way to go about compiling such a database again? I know I can always check the websites of the individual DVD labels like Criterion, Blue Underground, etc. or do a search for a particular actor or director on the websites of my DVD retailers of choice but, does anybody know of an easier method?

Thanks for any replies provided.

I do the same thing so titles don't slip by me. Admittedly, it's a tad OCD but what the hey.

Re: I lost my DVD database!

Travis is right: the reason is that there were (and are) so many DVD releases in 10 years that it's virtually impossible to keep track of even those which interest me (which still run into the 1000s)!

I also wrote those titles which had an Audio Commentary in a bold font to make them stand out from the rest and denoted discs which had a feature-length documentary included (which basically made them double-features for me), as well as the number of discs per edition.

www.dvdbeaver.com could also be a great source of DVD information. I use it daily. The site keeps track of the most significant worldwide DVD editions, publishes great reviews, technical comparisons of different DVD editions of the same titles, places to buy DVDs, and a huge variety of other useful DVD information.
