FYI: may want to check out this thread if this shortcoming is a dealbreaker for potential purchases of this unit.

I realized this after the fact when I purchased a 605 recently. In my case, I just swapped my cable box out and got one with HDMI. No up/down conversion necessary now as it passes the 1080i straight through HDMI to HDMI.
