Wouldn't FIVE GRAVES TO CAIRO be a wonderful New Year's Gift from Universal?

Since Halloween's announcements, Universal has been pretty quiet with their classic releases (although, in fairness, they have been better with them this past year than during the previous three or four years combined - and I love THE HEIRESS). I still want the Bob Hope version of CAT AND THE CANARY and the omnibus film IF I HAD A MILLION that contains a hilarious W.C. Fields segment, and ISLAND OF LOST SOULS. But I am also very anxious for FIVE GRAVES TO CAIRO, one of the better WWII thrillers.

Since they had a Preston Sturges box set, wouldn't a Billy Wilder one (containing THE MAJOR ANDTHE MINOR, FIVE GRAVES, upgraded LOST WEEKEND, A FOREIGN AFFAIR, and THE EMPEROR WALTZ, even throw in DOUBLE INDEMNITY) be perfect ??

"Five Graves to Cairo" would be great. I've been anxiously awaiting a new classics release announcement from Universal..hopefully they'll come through with at least something....

I would love this, but I'd rather keep Double Indemnity as a separate release. This is probably my #1 most wanted item on DVD right now.

"Five Graves to Cairo" is already available in France along with "The Major and the Minor" in a stunning video transfer. English and french audio tracks with optional subtitles are available.

My suggestions for a Billy Wilder Box Set:

A Foreign Affair (1948)
Five Graves to Cairo (1943)
The Major and the Minor (1942)
Hold Back the Dawn (1941)
Arise, My Love (1940)
Midnight (1939)

All quality films, all Universal properties, all unreleased in R1.
