Question concering image on two TVS

Two TVs - SONY SXRD 60 inch and Mit WD52631 - My father in law has a 60" Sony SXRD - awesome set with fantastic color - however - he moved and as I was setting up his HT I noticed the upper right corner has a green tint.

Ideas? Suggestions??

MY TV - A Mitsubishi WD52631 has a GREAT look but when turned off there seems to be not a black but a hint of gray in the middle of the screen.

It really only bothers me when the set is off. Any ideas what this is??

Re: Question concering image on two TVS

The Sony issue sounds like the start of the green blob issue. Is the Sony of the XBR1 model line? If so, then it'll require some repair guy to come out and address the issue. The green blob issue was alleviated in later SXRD models (some XBR2 had the issue, but it isn't as big a deal in the later models).

I had a gray spot in the middle of my old CRT HDTV RPTV, I figure it had something to do with the mirror for the guns, but not sure why it would happen with a DLP HDTV set. The back of the screen might have a slightly dirty patch of dust.

Room light entering the screen and reflecting around and back out.

The main mirror for the RPTV is more or less centered behind the screen.

Re: Question concering image on two TVS

turn the color control to zero on the sony...bet the color is very evident then (with the set on).

Contract sony for repair...Sony has been extending warranties for this known problem.
