Hi folks! This is my first post, so please don't kill me if I'm re-hashing old news (I couldn't find what I was looking for).
I have a Yamaha RX-Z1 receiver that came with the RAV-2000 Z Remote (which is really a Phillips Pronto from what I've seen). I'm trying to update it (can't according to Yamaha) or program it (with macros). I'm finding the task difficult. I can get it to control my Marantz DVD player, control the Epson TV. I have a satellite receiver and a new Samsung DVD recorder. The manual isn't that friendly, and there's no real friendly software to hook the think up and re-program that way. I'm tempted by the Harmony 550 remote ($70 after rebate) but think that I should be able to get the expensive remote working properly.
