Tribute to Brunettes - Page 16

Re: Tribute to Brunettes

That girl is 24 tomorrow (her Birthday is August, 21st), BTW, and born on Corsica (like Napoléon).

She was 16 (in 2000) when she had her first huge success with the song "Moi..Lolita" (I, Lolita).

The French text is inherently more, uhm, complicated than the English translation in the previous post.

Cees

Are you messing with me or are you serious lol? Actually, don't tell me, I like your translation better.

Thanks for the french version resurrection.

BTW, any chance that concert is being released on BD? I would freakin' love to see that girl in 1080p on my 60" Mit!

John,

No messing around or with you.
That text is 100% correct and the translation is as good as I could do it.

The english one is kind of growing on me, though the lyrics are odd. She does look great in the video though.

And now I found a shortened English version (I'm going to be hearing this song in my sleep!) in which she's wearing the same little black outfit from the "original" video!

I'm not saying that thought didn't run through my mind at one time or another!

I know John prefers to think she's singing something suggestive directly to him...but I think it's the foreign language (foreign to most of us anyway) that does add to the intrigue.

I had this image of some Europeans (who don't speak English) watching a Britney Spears video (similar back-up dancers) from a few years back and contemplating some of the same thoughts. (What eez thees "Oops, I deed eet again?!? Sexy!")

Re: Tribute to Brunettes

J'En Ai Marre!

J'ai la peau douce
Dans mon bain de mousse
Je m'éclabousse
J'en ris!
Mon poisson rouge

Aussi...

J'ai la peau douce
Dans mon bain de mousse
Pas de secousses sismiques
Je me prelasse
Et me délasse

Aussi...

Badabam...

J'En Ai Marre - English Version

I’m fed up!

Bubbles and water
Legs up for hours
My goldfish is under me
To bathe for hours
Makes my mouth water
I’m “foamely” ecstatic
It’s not a problem
I lazy ‘round
Bubbly and stubborn

I lazy ‘round
Melon and water
Is just a dream
It makes me wonder
Is it a “sin” ?
Bubbles and water
Legs up for hours
“Bombs”, you keep away from me!
Today lying low
Twisting up my toes
I swim in such harmony
So what bothers me:

Chorus :
I’m fed up with loneliness
With my uncle overstressed
Fumbling, crawling for something
That never shows, just a dream.
I’m fed up with creeps crying
Over the past, such a sin
Not to be cool, but a fool
If I could mess up their rules.
I’m fed up with your complaints
Baby, well I’m not a saint!
Fed up with the rain, the plane…
That makes me throw up again.
I’m fed up with all cynics
Bathing caps and all critics
I’m fed up with being fed up! Poor me !

Bubbles and water
Legs up for hours
My goldfish still under me!
Delight of pleasures
Aquatic treasures
A place out of misery, my fantasy

My uncle overstressed?!

In that case, that's hot.

I've always been a push-over for girls who speak other languages or speaks english with a foreign accent of some kind. For instance I could sit for hours and listen to Kiera Knightley ramble on about jibberish, the girl could be reading me the telephone book and i'd still think it was hotter than hell lol.

Re: Tribute to Brunettes

(of ALL people, you had to use a gal who speaks the standard form of your native language as an example? )

Quote:
Je m'éclabousse

I wet myself (throw droplets on myself, can also mean: give myself a bad name)
More like "I splash myself." "Wet myself"? No wonder John went nuts!

The English version Mike posted is not a verbatim translation, though essentially the same story. But also somewhat more suggestive.

OK Wow: I saw that girl ages ago on www.hotornot.com. I remember it like yesterday. I tried to save the link to her picture, but must have done something wrong because the link took me to a different person every time. I never thought I would see her again! This was at least 5 years ago.

As far as I know, she is just some ordinary girl who posted her picture on hotornot like countless others.

As Mike suggested, her figure is vastly exaggerated here, which was never necessary in the first place -- she was smoking as is. The evils of the digital age I guess.

Amazing. Where did you find the picture, Gary?

It's fun to read along with the lyrics while listening to the two different versions of the song.

That video is so mesmerising. Such a gorgeous woman! She looks like she filmed the english one minutes after the French Performance.

Damn catchy song I admit.

Re: Tribute to Brunettes

Okay...there's an "acoustic" version, too! Although I'm not really sure what's "acoustic" about it. "Stripped-down" (the music, that is) might be more apt:

Her outfit kinda makes her look pregnant here...but wikipedia says her kid was born in '05.

I hope everyone sent Alizée a birthday card today.

Re: Tribute to Brunettes

You know, I just read an article about the French fascination with line-dancing. Watching the vid with the white dress you can see that's very evident.

Mark, I wasn't aware of that...but I know exactly what you're talking about--the section near the end where Alizee and the girls are doing their "cowpoke" moves. Kinda like the hottest version of the Electric Slide ever!

Since we're in the brunettes thread...so you suppose French newscaster Melissa Theuriau...

has ever interviewed French pop star Alizée?

Hell yeah! The most unrealistic movie ever made, no way that super-nova-hottie ends up with Spade!

It reminds me of a quote from Hank Moody from Californication...

"Come on, she's super hot, she's fireworks on the fourth of July, you'll never do better but she can, know what I mean?"

Unfortunately, I've got to cite Mark for breaking Rule #1 of these threads which is posting names...but no pictures...

After all...it's all about the pictures...

Take heart, a dream like that is bound to come back.

I've dreamed about Scarlett Johanssen and Penelope Cruz together twice and I haven't even seen the movie yet lol.

Or deliver your congratulations and, uhm, tribute in person. John, think about that. She would answer the door... and perhaps say thanks, and then she would, perhaps ... I mean, in France it's customary to kiss people twice upon meeting if you know each other (the famous "embrasse").

Mmm, nice idea, I believe she's living in Europe.

Speaking of pregnancy, if you bop around the internet, you can stumble onto topless photos of a preggered Melissa Theuriau...

Allow me to quote the man for you: "I've been with a beautiful girl from time to time." So, take that!

For Bryan X it would be considered innuendo. I, on the other hand, simply figured a French pop star might be interviewed by a french newscaster.

And, somehow, David Spade seems to do really well in-real-life with the ladies. So, why not his movie characters?

And, Patrick: There seem to be plenty of topless photos of Miss Theuriau on the 'net, but none that I've seen seem to be pregnant-specific.

Just in case there are any newcomers to the lovely Miss Theuriau at this point in this thread...:

Look out (Greg)...there's a whole lot of French spoken here!

Re: Tribute to Brunettes

Stop defending Spade! Your harshin' my buzz.

There's this incredibly attractive dark-haired woman who rides the bus with me in the morning going to work that i'm completely smitten with, she actually looks a little like Anne Hathaway but not nearly as tall.

Wish that I had the balls to say something to her.

Re: Tribute to Brunettes

To quote a Fox Kids PSA that I'm sure you've never seen, "Just go for it, dude! Go for it, dude! Go for it, dude!" /decaying echo

The bus? Did you give up the bike?

Spade was married to Rebecca Romijn, so I will continue to defend him! Yes, it was just on a TV show, but. . . .

Re: Tribute to Brunettes

I still ride the bike to work every once in awhile but most of the time I take the bus. As for the woman, i'm a good people person once a conversation has been struck, I am immediately comfortable talking to people I just met, it's that first contact that I always have trouble with.

I just need an "in", she's quiet, i'm quiet, what do I say to her that won't sound dorky or forced? I need something that naturally comes out that will get her talking, once that happens i'll be fine and the conversation can easily branch off into anything.
