how do i make the port deeper

i am about to put a new speaker in my old encloser and the tech guys said the speaker is tuned a lil deeper so i just make the ports a lil longer ? Explain?

Speakers are not tuned. Enclosures are tuned. If the tech guy said that the new driver works better in a lower tuned enclosure, then yes you must make the port longer. Below is the formula for tuning the enclosure:
Port Length
The port length required to tune a volume of air to a specific frequency can be calculated by using the following equation:
Lv = (23562.5*Dv^2*Np/(Fb^2*Vb))-(k*Dv)


where,

Dv = port diameter (cm)
Fb = tuning frequency (Hz)
Vb = net volume (litres)
Lv = length of each port (cm)
Np = number of ports
k = end correction (normally 0.732)

Or you can do like the rest of us and use WinISD or Unibox. If you don't want to install any software, then the port calculator page at PSP, Inc. is a great resource.

Your other option is to make the port smaller but that can lead to chuffing at high volumes.
