DVD Debuts January 15 from Fox Home Entertainment, Featuring
Never-Before-Seen Footage, Commentaries, Interview With George Lucas and Others, and a First Look at the Next Hilarious Intergalactic Adventure

Special Edition Also Available, Featuring Collectible Packaging, T-Shirt,
Trading Cards, 3-D Glasses and More

CENTURY CITY, Calif. – A long time ago, but somehow in the future …Fox Home Entertainment presents an outrageous look at the Star Wars™ universe when Family Guy Presents: “Blue Harvest” parodies the movie that started it all – Episode IV A New Hope – on DVD on January 15. In the season premiere of the offensively uproarious series’ sixth season, “Blue Harvest” finds Peter, Lois, Chris, Stewie, Brian and some of Quahog’s finest in the middle of George Lucas’ beloved science-fiction epic. Feel the Farce in the most irreverent and hilarious way possible; with Han Solo (Peter) Dumpster diving for furniture; Darth Vader (Stewie) soiling his diapers; Luke (Chris) battling against “Thai” fighters; and C-3PO (Quagmire) flirting with a 1980s dot-matrix printer. Featuring hysterical cameos from Rush Limbaugh, Chevy Chase, Beverly D’Angelo and Helen Reddy, Family Guy Presents: “Blue Harvest” is “a dead-on homage that hilariously picks apart Star Wars, along with much of real life” (Associated Press). The DVD features more than four minutes of never-before-seen material; an uncensored track; animatics; commentaries; interviews with Seth MacFarlane and George Lucas; and a first look at a now-in-production “Family Guy” Star Wars spoof (which goes by the working title of “Something, Something, Something Dark Side). Also available for true “Family Guy” and “Star Wars” fans is a special edition DVD that features collectible packaging, trading cards, an exclusive brochure, 3-D glasses, a t-shirt and more. The Family Guy Presents: “Blue Harvest” DVD is available for the suggested retail price of $22.98 U.S. / $ 25.98 Canada. The special edition is available for a suggested retail price of $34.99 U.S. / $46.98 Canada; prebook is December 19, 2007.

Marketing Support:
Fox will support the Family Guy Presents: “Blue Harvest” release with a significant multi-media campaign focused on fans and the core audience of college-aged consumers and the 18-49 male demographic. Network promos will appear in all-new episodes airing on FBC as well as cable TV. In addition, print, radio, grassroots efforts and an out-of-this-world publicity campaign will drive galactic-sized awareness.

Family Guy Presents: “Blue Harvest” Synopsis
The laughs come full Force when the Griffin clan puts a freakin' sweet spin on the greatest sci-fi saga ever told! With Peter playing the swashbuckling Han Solo, Lois as the sexy Princess Leia, Chris as an adolescent Luke Skywalker, Brian as a well-spoken Chewbacca, and Stewie finally embracing his dark side as Darth Vader, who knows what will happen. Filled with outrageous gags, spaced out droids and more intergalactic satire than you can shake a lightsaber at, this epic spoof is a must-own for every fan of Family Guy! The episode title comes from the code name used when filming Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.

Re: TCFHE Press Release: Family Guy presents Blue Harvest

Big thumbs up to Fox for not 'forcing' me to buy the entire season when I only want this episode.

You guys HAVE to find the easter eggs on the disc. You will love it.

Re: TCFHE Press Release: Family Guy presents Blue Harvest

As much as I liked this episode, I'll wait for it to be included in this season's set (when and if that ever gets released)

Re: TCFHE Press Release: Family Guy presents Blue Harvest

Overall, this is a decent release especially when you consider that it's basically just two episodes. There's the unedited and longer cut of the episode, a commentary, a 20 minute making-of, the entire animatic for the episode, a montage of Family Guy Star Wars parodies and a few other tidbits.

For those to lazy to hunt, here you go. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Under the Options menu, go to Resume Episode, press left which highlights the tractor beam and press Enter and you get a 2 and a half minute look at the table read for The Empire Strikes Back episode.

The second one is under the Features menu, go to Family Guy Promo, press Left which highlights the bubbles and press Enter and you get a quick promo for their next SW parody with a flash of what Boba Fett will look like.

Re: TCFHE Press Release: Family Guy presents Blue Harvest

what's the 3d fight scene? i rented the disc and couldn't find it

Re: TCFHE Press Release: Family Guy presents Blue Harvest

Eric,

The 3-D scene I think is only only on the Special Edition version. It was the scene where they fight the Tie Fighters. The 3-D was decent, it was a fun bonus.

Re: TCFHE Press Release: Family Guy presents Blue Harvest

was it on a seperate disc or was the SE a different single disc? also what other video extras were exclusive to the SE?

Re: TCFHE Press Release: Family Guy presents Blue Harvest

It was on the regular disc. I am only assuming it is only in the SE as the set came with 3-D glasses.

Something tells me this will be excluded from the next volume, just as the 3 episodes which formed the "Stewie Griffin Story" were excluded from volume 4 (latter half of season 4) while on TV those three episodes served as the show's season 4 finale.

Just a hunch.

Re: TCFHE Press Release: Family Guy presents Blue Harvest

or at least they'll show the broadcast version, while the recent releases had a few minutes extra
post #15 of 16

Re: TCFHE Press Release: Family Guy presents Blue Harvest

blue harvest had about 4 minutes of extra added in.

Re: TCFHE Press Release: Family Guy presents Blue Harvest

I am very irritated about this release. I bought it yesterday. The standard dvd does not work in my xbox 360 standard drive, HD drive, or Macbook Pro dvd drive. I transferred the digital copy to the laptop (but the window media center one, not the Itunes one - because windows media center is what I had open at the time). It works, but I don't really have the extra storage space available to keep it there. So, I wanted to put it on my desktop. I can't. The license has already been used because I put it on my laptop. There are no instructions on how to release the license. This sucks. I might as well have downloaded it off the internet. Seriously, one install? Geebus.
