Re: Guess who's coming to **Christmas** dinner...?
Having already seen the restored episode this August at the Dark Shadows Festival, I can say that once again Kevin has worked wonders. This is one of the most important episodes in the show's history, and it can finally be seen the way it was meant to be. From what I saw, the original videotape was used, and only the pivotal final scene needed repairing, and that's where Kevin came in with his restored LiveFeed footage. Now, maybe he can do work on some other shows, especially vintage soap opera episodes. Roughly the first four years of General Hospital (1963-67) was shot live-on-tape in B/W, and the kinescopes for all those episodes do exist, as ABC owns them and also donated copies to UCLA's TV archive. Also, how about some of the vintage kinescopes from:The Honeymooners- the CBS 'live' shows 1952-55, 1956-57
Playhouse 90 and other live TV drama anthologies
Shindig- some videotapes exist, but mostly kinescopes abound

BTW Kevin, what's the latest on the possibility of getting the color signals from B/W kinescopes of shows broadcast in color?

I'd also heard about the restoration! It's a nice bonus they are putting it on the dvd.
