Where are wallpaper images stored?

I have a favorite wallpaper of a Macintosh Apple against a silver
background that was apparently pulled from the Internet shortly
after downloaded.

I'd like to put the same image that's on my desktop onto my laptop.

Problem is, I have no idea where that image is located within my
system. Doing a .BMP search brought up nothing in return.

Can anyone assist me in locating this image?

Thanks in advance!

Not there.

This was a picture I downloaded from the Internet, did a right
click on desktop and "saved as wallpaper."

Have no idea where OS X places that stuff, but it's not in that folder.

Re: Where are wallpaper images stored?

Ron, go to your System Preferences, click on "Desktop and Screen Saver" then make sure you have Desktop chosen in the top menu. It should show you the image and the name, plus give you an indication of where it is located, or you just search for the file name. Very good chance it is not a BMP, which is not a common Mac image format.

Re: Where are wallpaper images stored?

BTW Ron, you've been in the Mac world long enough to know they are desktops, not wallpapers.
