Re: HTF HD-DVD Review: Face/Off
This case has indeed strong DNR applied. The screenshots leave no doubt about it. And the screenshots are not amateur. That's an absurd claim. Direct digital shots from the disc are the best and most objective way to discuss what the disc actually looks like apart from watching it together in the same room (which is impossible for internet discussions). These shots don't tell the whole story since one watches films at 24 fps (resp. 48/50/60/100/120) and some shots are a fraction of the whole film. But such shots are clear and telling evidence of what there is on the disc and how the HD-DVD compares to the BR and neither amateur nor somehow flawed in principle (as opposed to shots of monitors taken with cameras and posted, which are pretty much useless).
