Wire Concealment

What are some options to conceal a bundle of wires coming down from the center of an LCD on the wall if going into the wall is not an option? LIke if you are in an apartment.

Home Depot sells a cord hider kit. You can get them as thick as 2" and slip all the wires going down the wall into it. You still will have it going down the wall, but, it will look alot nicer and you can paint it to match your walls color.

There are things like WireMold, which may be what Troy is talking about - although properly done the backing piece does get screwed to the wall proper.

There is also the theory of the woven plastic tube that you run everything through; some people like that.

Depending on your decor, you may also consider building a 3 or 4 sided wooden box that would "lean" against the wall, with everything inside it. Stained and polished, maybe even extending to "frame" the entire display...

As these guys said, there are tons of solutions out there. Home Depot and Lowes will have "Wiremold" or a atleast a competitors brand in stock.

Check out decorative bamboo. Large diameter bamboo is decorative and easy to work into the room decore, yet it's hollow and can be drilled for entrance/exits.

The inner walls of large bamboo canbe very tough, but my buddy showed me a trick. A steel poker (used to break up concrete and stuff) heated to red hot just pushes right through and leaves a nice clean tunnel.
