Smallest external HD with FW 800

I just bought a My Book 1TB home edition external at Costco for $299, and it has a USB 2.0, Firewire 400 and eSata connections. Since I do video editing, I'd like a Firewire 800 connection for "future proofing" (eventually I'll move into HD work I'm sure) so I have all connections; however, the My Book 1TB premium ($20 more) which has the FW800 connection is about twice the size of the Home edition. I can't imagine lugging it around that much, but if I want to go edit at say starbucks or the library with my MBP, the Pro edition is quite bulky, which is why I would prefer to go with something slimmer like the Home edition. Anyone know of something like this? For reference, the Home edition drive is about the size of a paperback book standing up, just a tad bit longer.

Check out the drives at OWC, you should be able to find something there.

OWC is the place for external storage. Check out their Mercury On The Go drives. They're always updating their drives and enclosures with the fastest chipsets and you can't go wrong with them. I've bought close to a dozen drives and/or enclosures from them over the years. Only negative for me is that I have to pay sales tax, but the performance and price/GB is way too good to overlook.

G-Tech actually sells a mini RAID drive with two 2.5-inch drives, but they are insanely overpriced.

In truth, how much space/weight do you save going with a small enclosure over a standard?
Just a thought.

Those small 2.5" enclosed HD rock. As for my original post, I think I'm going to with Christians suggestion at OWC, or possibly go for the My Book Studio edition, which is about the same size as the drive I have now but is in a red box and supposedly geared more towards Macs anyways.

Difficult to argue that OWC, with a domain of macsales.com isn't geared toward the Mac.
