Best Buy and Blu-ray

Just wanted to mention something I noticed today. I was in Best Buy, once again thinking about buying either a New 1080P HD DVD Player or a 1080P blu ray player. I presently have an xbox 360 that only supports 1080I.
I was looking at the movies available on both and notice that the Best Buy in Mesquite, TX (Dallas) has a total of 4 shelving units devoted to Blu Ray Movies with all the covers facing towards the customers and only 1 shelving unit with HD DVD movies and all of those with the sides facing the customer. It seems they have made a choice which format they are pushing. At least at this location.

I also noticed that when doing a search for High Def Movies on Ebay, over 1400 titles came up for HD DVD and only 84 titles for Blu Ray.

Re: Blockbuster and Blu Ray

that is location only setup.

are you asking a question?

Re: Best Buy and Blu-ray

Best Buy varies by location. Some have more HD, some have more BD. The Ebay stat means nothing. I would expect that you would get way more HD DVD hits when you search for high def since that is what the HD in its name stands for. When I search for Blu-ray movies I get 5117 items found.

Re: Best Buy and Blu-ray

no question. just an observation
Just wish a format would win out and be done with it.
as for ebay,
I had search for blu ray and only came up with the 84, i did it again today and came up with 3000, maybe I was only searching a sub catagory.

i have had a different result at my local best buy/circuit city store where it is exactly the opposite blue ray all the way hd on the low down. i also recently checked ebay as i do not currently own either blu ray or hd as i looked i noticed a whole lot more blu ray than hd. my comment is to buy a new lg that can play both blu ray and hd.
