I was on a favorite forum of mine and someone was posting piano solo's from youtube. Someone posted one from Andrew W.K. (Never Let Down) and after watching I was thinking to myself "Freaking WOW!". I just don't have the vocabulary to describe it. It felt large and grand but rocked at the same time. And I love piano and he's pretty good.
Anway, I've been looking for something different. Something that hit hard and fast and was fun at the same time. I'm so tired of the rock I hear today on the radio. A lot of it is so dark and dismal and depressing. Lots of growling mixed with harmony. Lots of "I'm so emotionally down; life is spitting on me" songs. You know what? Life is tough enough. I want something fun, hard hitting and/or deep without being dark. And Andrew W.K. fills this nitch nicely.
A lot of his songs sound the same but I don't care. I'm 38, got a stressful full time job, married and have 4 full grown teenagers. I need something that rocks and isn't depressing!
