I'm not a fan of Vista and would like to use XP. I have a Dell desktop with has XP on its recovery disc. Is there any problem with using that disc to install on my laptop?

Shouldn't be. The only problem comes in authentication. You might have to call up microsoft to get a new authorization code. I believe XP is licensed to run on multiple machines (?) so it shouldn't be a problem.
