Re: Denver The Last Dinosaur extincts after 1000 copies!!

Got a phone call saying my PAYPAL address was not correct and I needed to take care of it for the order to go through but paypal's site is down and I checked my e-mail and I get one saying it was sent but it turned out that was just an order confirmation, but I got it all straightened out now. Anyways, I asked how was it selling and she said good so if you want this show on DVD, order it now.

Ok.. did you expect her to say otherwise anyway??

Re: Denver The Last Dinosaur extincts after 1000 copies!!

No, I already knew it would be a hot item with Denver's rabid fanbase which should appear obvious to you by the massive size of this thread.

Edit rather than adding another post: I got the impression that there was an urgency in securing my order for fear of it no longer being available.

No, just what I was told by my contacts at WEP. They wrote me to thank me for my news post telling people about the show's DVDs, and commented that the copies were going fast as a result. VERY fast.

Re: Denver The Last Dinosaur extincts after 1000 copies!!

I got mine today, From what I saw, it looks and sounds to be in great condition but I am not as picky as some people. I did notice some flickers, cracks every once in a while but I kind of liked that and the colors seem colorful and bright, the lines defined. I was delighted to find that the bumpers are intact, you know where they say "Denver will be back after these messages, Denver"," and then "and Now back to Denver the Last Dinosaur, Denver!" There are chapter stops, It seems 7 for each episode, including the double length pilot which is counted as two episodes in episode count but presented as one whole show, this is why the episode selection menu only gives you nine options but the first highlighted episode is the second episode. You can just move it to the left to highlight the pilot though. Bonus features are 3. There is Denver Karaoke, 1 minute and half of a still image of Denver as the lyrics on screen turn from white to green with an instrumental version of the theme playing. Denver Around the World has almost four minutes of clips with an alternate language, the video quality of these clips are poor and should be used as a comparison in displaying how beautiful the actual show as presented in the complete English episodes looks on this DVD. There are some trailers for other products from this company. First episode is 46 minutes and 51 seconds, The rest all fall just a few seconds under 22 minutes.

Re: Denver The Last Dinosaur extincts after 1000 copies!!

DVD arrived today and I have to say I am very dissappointed by W.E.P. who produces these DVDs.
First of all the quality of the cover and disc-art is VERY poor + the sets are not numbered even though they are limited to 1000.. would it hurt if they numbered it as well ??
As far as the image is concerned:

The image is not very good.. Doesn't represent the FINE job they did restoring the Voltron series for example. As far as the sound is concerned, it sounds (not pun intended) VERY good !

Re: Denver The Last Dinosaur extincts after 1000 copies!!

I guess different people have different standards but the image looks great to me and along the lines of the Voltron releases. Mind you I only have a 6-5 year old Sony 32 Wega, you may have a better TV than me to spot some things. As for the box art, I find it in line with the series, which I love. It says disc 1 on the box, it kind of makes me think this was suppose to be disc 1 in a box set.

Re: Denver The Last Dinosaur extincts after 1000 copies!!

Can someone tell me what W.E.P, has produced on dvd in the past. I'd like to pick the Denver dvd up, but I'm always concerned if I can't buy it at Deepdiscount or Amazon. I don't like buying through specialty sites, and for 10 episodes, the price is a bit steep.

Re: Denver The Last Dinosaur extincts after 1000 copies!!

They made the Voltron releases, Best of the Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs (10 fan picked episodes) and Vytor (a series that was not completed past 4 episodes or so due to the high cost of making it and was later cut into a movie. Vytor should be of interest of fans of Voltron and other 80s sci-fi fantasy animation.

Denver is selling for about 25, if you added on one of the extra items, it increases the value. For 30 you get the DVD and a cel, for 35 You get the DVD and a 16 dollar plush or the DVD and a 17 dollar T shirt, for 50 you get the DVD, a cel, a tshirt, and a plush.
