the episode appropriately tittled Bitches is my least favorite of the season so far.

Episode moved a little fast with lots of information, but was nicely tied up in the end, with "The facts were these..."

I loved Emerson and Simone's scenes together, especially when she used the dog clicker on him.


There are only three episodes left

For the early 8 p.m. EST show, the death scene was kinda brutal. The episode did underscore the importance of touch and physical intimacy in a committed relationship, and just how long can Chuck and Ned keep on with the status quo without going bonkers.

I think the Writers' strike might actually benefit this show. It's difficult to keep up this level of creativity throughout a 22 ep season, so, maybe a shorter season would be better.

Absolutely. Those bits were gold. That actress definitely had some presence.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the shot-for-shot homage to the 'Vertigo' dream sequence.

The Vertigo homage was very cool! To me, it sort of came out of nowhere, but I was happy to go with it and it nicely tied into the discussion about dreams and their meanings.

No, we weren't.

We were happy because the scene gave Chuck and Olive a chance to start removing clothing. (Too bad this wasn't HBO, they could have let Ned go on sleeping a little longer and showed us more of the dream. )

Can I just say that I Loooooooooove Olive. She is just so darn cute. I really enjoyed Wednesdays episode. Emerson again had the best lines in that one.

Personally, I loved the episode. Great opening, the dog-clicker was hilarious, the dream was brilliant (I should note that Vertigo is my favourite film), and the death scene was one of the funniest I have seen in a long time (I kept rewinding and rewatching that scene - it was painful to imagine, but hilarious to watch).

Smell of Success

Better than last weeks "Bitches", but still kind of average.

A somewhat nice musical number from Ellen Greene.
Paul Ruebens was enjoyable as a stink loving smell man.
And according to the ending, it seems like he will be back to expose Chuck's secret or to fall in love with her obsessively due to her smell.

Which I'm interpreting, that maybe Chuck is hiding a secret?(one we don't know about)
Since Oscar said it's NOT death that she smell s like.

The beginning title was changed to add Bryan Fuller's name in the root of the flower, which I liked better than the quickly growing daisies.

Not too many funny or memorable lines.

But I really liked the outfit Chuck was wearing when she visited Olive to take her picture.
Plus I also love the design of the apartment building.

What's funny is Napoleon LeNez's last name is French for "the nose"

And they also quotted from the 1984 movie C.H.U.D. which I found funny

Also,
Ned needs to stay away from bear skin rugs

and
Patrick Sun,
If you thought last weeks was brutal
I thought this one was a little bit more brutal having a young woman explode and then having a charred body wake up talking.

Yeah, I still don't know why these dead people who died a violent death don't "wake up" screaming from the pain.

Hopping Mermaid Olive needs to be a weekly installment...

Ditto on both accounts. Anna Friel looks gorgeous in everything she wears. Plus, Kristin Chenowith really knows how to rock an outfit, even if it's a Fourth of July mermaid costume. It was great how enthusiastic she was when she opened the door in that.

I loved the scene at the beginning where young Ned wakes up in his bed and we see Digby sleeping at the foot of his bed. Even at that young age, they both know how to stay close without touching. It helps explain how he can do it with Chuck.

The charred corpse was gross but funny. "Was I smoking?" "Sorry."

Olive: "What do I smell like?"

Oscar: "Dog."

I loved how Vivian stood up to Lily. And also Chuck's and Olive's budding friendship and how it seems to unnerve Ned.

I thought this was a fantastic ep.

Oh, I totally forgot about "Jews For Cheese."

Typo? "Jews for Cheeses."

Another good one. The show would be worth watching just for Kristin's wardrobe, of course, but there's so much more.

Loved "follow the yellow thick hose." High "ick" factor on the corpse-of-the-week though.

I hope they make some progress in the strike talks tomorrow. I want my TV shows back!

I loved the line from Emerson, I thought you might one of those with both that doesn't user either, I was LMOF at that line. Unforuntaly we had a thunder storm warning taking up 1/3 of the bottom of my screen last night, I missed most of the cleavage shots : (

I just love this show. Olive and Chuck in catsuits, this week's Hithcock reference is to The Birds and Emerson, as usual, gets the best lines:

"Well, me and - Nancy Shrew will get you out."

"I mean, it's a broad generalization, but my guess is an attractive man who makes pies for a living shouldn't even spend a short amount of time in prison."

"Hey, yeah, that would narrow our list of suspects down to only insanely stupid people."

Also liked the little Wrath of Khan Spock death-scene moment with Chuck pressing her white-gloved hand up to the glass barrier that separated her from Chuck. And Olive's pie was great.

And they finally revealed Ned's Big Room o'Rotten Fruit...yet no one seemed to care or ask questions about it except the Health Inspector.

Even though Emerson and Chuck know of Ned's "gift," you'd think they'd be grossed out and a little taken aback to know the source of the pies they're eating.

That part doesn't make that much sense, really. He touched the pile of leaves, they came back to life, and a second touch instantly killed them. So, how does he handle the fruit he brings back to life? Has it shown him wearing gloves to cut and place strawberries? The writers have shown they know what they're doing, so it's probably just something I missed.

I kind of wish the "just some guy" had turned out to be "just some guy." That would have added to the weirdness.

Anyway, one of the best episodes yet. The cliffhanger was just plain mean, though.

A guy falling in love with his HOV-lane dummy. That's hilarious.

They've shown him picking one up on the stem end, like most people do, which revives it; and reused that shot a few times. Seems like an easy problem to solve though. (I would probably touch them all, then put on some gloves to wash, cut, and prepare them.) Buying rotten fruit at a discount would help explain how he keeps his place in business -- not that that's ever been an issue.
