how hard could it have been to shoot a couple of quick shots of Warrick popping a pill here and there or hiding a bottle to be inserted into earlier episodes during editing?

Then you haven't been paying attention, because there have indeed been scenes of him doing this, and Sara was the first to ask him about it.

Now that you mention that scene, I do remember it. Just looking at this thread though, you can see that most people don't remember it and that would indicate that they didn't make enough of it for the audience to realize he had a problem.

Re: CSI: Las Vegas Season 8 thread

That is true. It was too subtle, but it was there.

Well, as I wrote in a previous post:

So I'd say I had that covered. But I agree with Travis - since I'm hardly the only one who had this problem, I'm inclined to blame the producers for not making a little more of it because I'm usually a pretty attentive viewer and if I missed it I suspect it was pretty "missable". (In fact, I took some of the later posts as confirmation that I was right and there had been no such scenes, since so many others were making the same complaint.)

Re: CSI: Las Vegas Season 8 thread

Just saw Lying Down with Dogs. Iguess this is the season ender if the strikes continues.

Interesting to me in that the writers are giving more time to Hodges and Wendy and not just for the usual evidence feedback or discovery. I wonder if the Hodges character sees a lot of interest amongst the more hardcore fan base.

And that last shot involving Warrick's case and the insider. That was a new thing they seem to injected, is it?

I think there is at least one more episode left but don't quote me.

Sorry, I had to quote you.

There is indeed one episode left but I'm not sure if it will air soon, or next month.

It's called "Bull", and takes place in part at a rodeo show.

Well, they've been saying from the beginning that a blackmail scheme like this would need corrupt cops on the payroll, and Brass strongly hints to Grissom that he agrees with Warrick on that point and I think even mentions the possibility of a "mole". So the tag doesn't really come out of nowhere.

Joe

Re: CSI: Las Vegas Season 8 thread

I realized that Brass and Grissom had the discussion of a mole early in the episode. I guess the idea of the mole seemed like another sudden addition to the show that doesn't normally do that sort of thing. I guess this is no different then the Catherine story line with her father.

Re: CSI: Las Vegas Season 8 thread

Maybe this is the season story arc. The fact that there is no part 3 next time, this could lead to a season finale, writers strike notwithstanding.
It could work up to Worrick finally ending up in that barber's chair. It would mean a victory to him, but what a price to pay. Just speculation, I have no idea how this story will end.

Re: CSI: Las Vegas Season 8 thread

I have done a pretty good search and I was suprised that I couldn't find a layout of the CSI ofices...the room where the "mole" made his call was just outside of the interrogation room...is there more than one interrogation room?

It sounded like BRASS!

Re: CSI: Las Vegas Season 8 thread

Just a heads up:

"Bull", which is perhaps the final episode of this shortened season, will air on January 10th.

The episode takes place at a Rodeo show, and features country music artists Jewel and Shooter Jennings. Former MADTv star Nicole Sullivan also guest stars.

Re: CSI: Las Vegas Season 8 thread

And let's not forget to mention the "more Cowbell" reference by Hodges!

Re: CSI: Las Vegas Season 8 thread

I liked when Catherine says how much she cried at the end of Brokeback Mountain and Hodges said "Me too."

Yeah, me too. It would be wierd for him to be in that room and out of his office. I wish we had a layout of the CSI set!

Just a reminder, a new episode is on tomorrow night at 9 PM.

Re: CSI: Las Vegas Season 8 thread

They're all back this week, with Miami starting last week ahead of the others.

Tomorrow's episode is supposedly going to delve into Grissom's life a bit, as he is sidelined with the flu. It's titled "Grissom's Divine Comedy".

It co-stars Bonnie Bedelia (John McClane's ex wife) as a DA who is connected to Grissom.

Three weeks was spent on every detail of Grissom's apartment. (as found here: CSI Files - Look Who's Back )

Things will certainly be interesting when the writers perform that switch with the writers of "Two And A Half Men", whenever that comes to fruition.

Re: CSI: Las Vegas Season 8 thread

William Peterson renewed for next season, though with a reduced schedule (like this year).

Re: CSI: Las Vegas Season 8 thread

They also made another revised credit sequence. I'm a sucker for those things, so I always watch them and notice the changes.

It's probably a fair bet that Grissom was speaking to Sara on the phone at the end.

Re: CSI: Las Vegas Season 8 thread

Overall, I thought this was a good episode. I rarely (if ever) watch the reruns so CSI has been off my radar since January but seeing the show again made me realize how much I missed it.

I wasn't sure if I just couldn't remember the Jorja Fox-less credit sequence or if they changed the credits again. That shot of Grissom in the bee keeping mask seemed new.

Re: CSI: Las Vegas Season 8 thread

The beekeeper mask was there after Jorja Fox's credit was removed.

What they changed in tonight's version was the opening circle-around shot of that tower, added a shot of Petersen with a beard again (before the beekeeper shot) as well as a couple of new shots of Dourdan, Hall and Guilfoyle. Subtle changes.

Bit of trivia for this episode (as well as 'Leapin' Lizards' in season 7 unless it's been mentioned before in this thread, as it's been a while) Grissom's dog is actually William Petersen's own dog, named Bruno.

???? This is the first I've ever heard about this. Are we sure this isn't somebody's idea of an April Fool's joke? (Although I did like the CSI spoof - maybe more of a CSI: Miami spoof - that Two-and-a-Half Men did when Alan's 2nd ex-wife shot a TV pilot.)

Either one or both of the dogs who belonged to Sam Braun's dead son in the S2 opener was actually the personal pet of George Eads, as mentioned on the commentary track.

I hope we get a little more information about Grissom's relationship with the DA. I loved the call-back to all the various scandals the CSIs have been involved in over the years.

I can confirm that, Joe. I've read it in a couple of different places.

I don't watch Two and a Half Men, but I'll be checking out Youtube for that spoof.

I so badly wanted Grissom to reply to that with, "yeah but most of those were so long ago in season one".

Or something to that effect. That would have been perfect for that scene.

Re: CSI: Las Vegas Season 8 thread

Liked Nick's reply to Hodges that he should work in China.

I think Grissom was talking to Sara too at the end.

It would be interesting to see more of Bonnie Bedelia's character. Liked the look Catherine gave Bonnie's character when she said she'd drop everythng and come over in the middle of the night.

CSI Video: Deleted Scene - Grissom's Apartment - CBS.com

Great deleted scene involving Catherine snooping around Grissom's place as he's in his room dressing for court.

Re: CSI: Las Vegas Season 8 thread

Thanks for the heads up on the deleted scene. Liked the photo that Catherine is looking at, gives a definite clue Grissom was with Sara in SF all those years ago.

It's not even a question to me. I think the goofy look on his face was the tip-off!

Mike scurries off to watch that deleted scene....

Got to love the look on his face at the end of the scene, as though he's glad to have pulled off a years-long charade.

One thing I hadn't picked up on during the credits (it was mentioned in a DVDTalk thread I'm also in) was that they don't cater to the 4:3 crowd anymore, as the actor's names are now cut off on standard TV
