Well at least new SG-Atlantis tomorrow, (unless I have that wrong too).

Well, at one point Kryptonsite was claiming that there would be new episodes tonight and next week, with the last four running during Feb. sweeps. They later changed the program dates on their spoiler page to "early 2008." We'll know for sure when a new episode is scheduled at least a week or so out, but I'm figuring they'll air at least some of the new shows during sweeps, which start on January 31st.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

From the SFTV page http://www.sftv.org/sftv/sftvschd.txt
they have the new episodes starting on Jan 31.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

What about the 17th. I know they have the 07 year, but that is probably a mistake. And they list the episode as 139 not 139R. I take it the R means a rerun.

Actually, looking further up the list I see that Wrath aired earlier in the season. Guess they just got the year wrong and left off the R.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

I'm seeing conflicting info on what exactly the CW's gonna do with the final 6 Smallville episodes. The Futon Critic is showing all six episodes running in a row from Jan. 31st to March 6th.

the futon critic - the web's best primetime television resource

Of course, that list is subject to change.

KryptonSite: Your Source For "Smallville" News And Information is showing that they are only showing three episodes, saving a couple for late March, and the season finale as unscheduled.

I guess the only thing we can count on for sure right now, is that there will be new episodes on 1/31, 2/7 and 2/14, and even that could change.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

^ I doubt CW has a nailed down schedule for the remaining episodes of the season. They need to keep it all in flux and as fluid as possible. What we do know is that tonight is a repeat (Lara) and next week is a repeat (Wrath). Supernatural's final new episode is on Feb. 21 (IIRC) and Reaper will move into the post-Smallville slot on the 28th.

I would highly doubt CW is going to stick the season finale out there in March or April by itself with no new episode preceeding it. You need momentum to end the season 1) early and 2) 7 episode short.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

According to Ausiello over at TV Guide...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Green Arrow proves himself to be quite the skillful thief in the Feb. 7 episode. According to one of my Small moles, Justin Hartley's emerald archer steals every scene he's in. Speaking of petty theft, Lana steals a few minutes with Clark and finally tells him the truth. About Lionel. About that woman who died. About everything. (Leave the keys under the mat, Brad.)

To which I say YAY! Enough speculation.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

So still, the next new episode is NEXT WEEK, 1/31, correct.

Want to be sure not to miss one tonight, if this is wrong.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

Tonight is a repeat of "Blue" with next week being a new episode called "Personae." Or, at least, that's what TiVO scheduling is telling me.

A reminder - new episode tonight!

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

Shame on the CW. They had all of these free Thursdays to bring the show back. And they bring it back on the night Lost returns.

Today is the first day of February sweeps. They owe it to their affiliates to put their best foot forward.

Not only that, but Lost is a 9 pm show...Smallville 8. No direct competition. Yes, the recap show airs at 8, I know. But either a LOST clip episode or new Smallville? That's why they made DVR's.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

Damn, this is gonna be a pisser.

I like to record Smallville and Lost, only 1 DVD Recorder amd I hate the way my Cable Box auto switches from 1 to the other. And to make matters worse, neither of these show encores later at night. Guess I'll just have to set it to record for the full 2 hours and deal with the stupid Cable Info box when it auto-tunes to the next show. Why the frack did they have to move Lost to Thu and why not at 10pm?

If I could only use the force to change to ABC exactly at 9pm!

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

you dont have a dual tuner dvr?

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

Okay, we're only 30 min into this episode and i'm confused about something, how is Bizarro getting around in the daylight? We saw him clearly walk into the house from outside where it was bright and sunny and he even still had sun on his face when he walked through the door.

Maybe someone can clear something up for me. (Either I'm getting old and not remembering my mythology...or I've got this right and the logic doesn't add up.)

Jor-El imprisoned Clark in the fortress for disobeying him. The result? Bizarro is running around AS Clark. Then Jor-El release Clark to stop Bizarro. What dd the ice prison serve to accomplish? Nothing as far as I can tell.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

Nice to see Marc "Jimmy Olsen" McClure show up on Smallville (as Daxur).

The Bizarro scenes were full of contradiction at times.

The Lex-Julian-Lionel stuff is too over-the-top (or maybe I'm not quite used to it anymore since it's been a while since the last batch of episodes.

Nope, it's a stand-alone DVD Recorder, not a cable supplied DVR.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

This show feels more and more soapy as it goes on. It was good to see Jimmy. Of course, since the producers feel everything has to be twisted in some way, he's probably dead now. Can't just introduce somebody and have it be a nice thing.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

I HATED this episode
I'm getting incredibly bored by Smallville.

I didn't understand the whole ice imprison Clark.
and Bizzaro running around the daylight was sloppy.

And I FULLY agree that Smallville is becoming "soapy"

and how did regular Clark touch Blue Kryptonite without being effected??

Something interesting needs to happen quick.

I don't think that Jor-El knew that Bizarro was going to be able to return when he was punishing Clark. He felt that stopping Bizarro was more important than continuing the punishment.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

I'm a little put off by Jor-El imprisoning Clark in the ice, I mean first off it was an extremely cruel thing to do and second it accomplished nothing meaningful.

I mean if Jor-El's idea of disiplin is to encase his only son in a block of ice maybe it's a good thing that Krypton exploded and he sent Clark away as a baby as i'm sure he would have been one hell of a father lol.

Jor-El should have just made Clark run a couple of hundred laps around the Earth.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

When Jor-El says, "Don't make that expression or it'll freeze on your face," he isn't messing around. It was a stupid "TV" way of getting Clark out of the picture for a while. How about making it something cool like Clark is *finally* in training, and oblivious to what is going on in his personal life. The only downside to that is it would probably make Clark say, "I can't ever train or my loved ones will be in danger."

When Lana walked in with the bag of groceries with the obligatory loaf of french bread sticking out the top, I expected to hear that pleasant, forgettable soap music. The transitions from place to place are very soapy, too. Lionel/Victor Newman does something and is contemplating as the music swells, and we cut to Lana and Chloe talking in the kitchen. Sorry, I don't know enough about Young/Restless to give them counterpart names.

The show is seriously spinning its wheels now. I didn't hate the episode, but the whole season has been pretty bland. I think they seriously need to get him flying or training or just let whatever's left of the season be it.

Smallville is 2 seasons overdue for a series finally where Clark finally becomes Superman. I have loved the series but, IMO, it has just been dragging for a couple seasons now. They have clearly run out of good ideas and directions for the characters to move but, keep stretching this thing out. It's time for Clark to grow up, train and fulfill his destiny. CW, stop dragging the fan base through the mud with dreadfully boring season just because you don't have any other shows worth watching (well, until Reaper came along this season).

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

Like I said, it's clear that Lex is the bad guy, etc. etc. but episodes like this make you wonder if his reasoning, which now seemingly has government backing, isn't at least somewhat valid.. even the "good guys" from Krypton are overly creepy weirdos with plans on earth that almost everyone who isn't directly touched by them would be creeped out by; the idea of having an earth bound force to do whatever to stop them seems kind of fitting..

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

At this point, I would even like Lex to build a Legion of Doom and get Braniac and Bizzaro and even create a few villians in his lab to get something going for this stale show.

Then you bring back Green Arrow, Flash, Cyborg to have a big battle.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

My feeling is that big battle would be unfulfilling because of limits to the TV budget, and the fact that they'd probably try to shoehorn the situation into one 44-minute episode. Even the big battle at the end of X-men Last Stand left some feeling unfulfilled.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

The Clark/Lana scenes are torturous, they really need to move on.

Lois's concerns about being 2nd best in a relationship with a super-hero was actually kinda meaningful insight from her perspective. I felt sympathy for her.

Not quite sure Black Canary's raccoon disguise would really work in the real world.

Lex needs to move on as well, I think his diabolicalness is played out. Lionel's sort of adrift, though with Julian's sudden murder.

Re: Smallville - Season 7 thread

If Lex Luthor being diabolical is played out, it's time to close up shop.

Absolutely agreed. I could have sworn Lana telling Bizarro last week she was happier with him was a ruse to put the blue K in his hands, thus making him go POOF. Without that "misunderstanding," the entire subplot would have been moot.

I'm wondering at this particular moment in time what Kara is up to. We haven't seen her in a long long time. Not that I really care; she's one new character that simply doesn't work.

The more characters like Green Arrow and Black Canary are added to the show, the more I'm convinced Smallville can give way to a live action Justice League-esque show. GA, BC, Superman, Aquaman, Cyborg, Flash...they've got the main characters right there. New dynamics, new actors and fresh stories.
