Rome seasons in HighDef?

Anyone know if there are plans to bring the 'Rome' series on HD-DVD and/or blu-ray?

Haven't heard anything, but it would certainly be drool-inducing. This looked terrific in SD.

The biggest reason I'm not buying Rome on DVD is because I think it is a shoo-in for Blu Ray.

I bought season one on DVD, but I will wait for an HD (preferably Blu-ray) version of series two.

I also want Deadwood in HD... real bad!

Anymore news on this? I borrowed the series from a friend and loved it (both seasons) but I'll wait to get them in Blu if they're coming out.

I don't have any inside info but if HBO has either given up on releasing or slowed down to a crawl with The Sopranos on Blu-Ray, I don't think Rome is coming any time soon.

That's unfortunate. Ah well, the SD DVD look rather good on my setup, so not THAT big a deal, I suppose. If I get impatient, I'll go SD.

Rome won't be coming back for a third season, so I can't see much motivation for HBO to re-release the title in Blu-Ray, at least not until there is a much higher penetration than at present.
