same dvd playing in every tv in the house

I'd like to find a way to have the same centrally located dvd player's signal sent to all the tv's in the house on a certain channel. What is the best way to accomplish that feat.

Thanks,
Stan

What cables do you have running to each TV now? There's a couple of different ways to accomplish it but they all involve using some sort of cable splitter box to take in a source and split it X number of ways to be sent to the various TV's. This could be something as simple as composite or as fancy as HDMI. You can also modulate it to say channel 2 on your TV's.

Like Andrew said, the easiest way is a channel modulator. The cheap models only work on channel 2, 3 or 4. A frequency agile modulator will allow you to keep your current channels if you get cable or have an antenna and inject the DVD audio/video onto a new channel in the 50-120 range (depending on modulator). Most modulators have multiple inputs so you can have 2 sources like a DVD and VCR.

Smart Home and Parts Express have an assortment of modulators.

What is your budget and what is your task?

Youu start by asking about having it on specific channels, unless this is just for background or something, this is a poor way to go about distributing video(poor quality), and also somewhat clumsy.

Do you want access to a library of DVDs from around the house, or what? This is a really vague question with a lot of possibilities, at a lot of budget pricepoints, so it's difficult to give much advice unless we understand what exactly you're trying to do and WHY, and also how much budget...
