Help with Wii & 360 Games for Kids

Thread Starter
I would like to buy a couple of games for my kids for the Wii and the 360 but I am not sure what to buy. My kids are 9 and 5 and have both played games since they were old enough to hold a controller. I find most 360 games to be a bit mature and I haven't played enough Wii games to know what to pick out. Also most reviews seemed to be geared towards older gamers. If you have something you can recommend let me know. Thank you.

Kid Games already owned:
Wii -- Zelda, Mario Party
360 -- Viva Pinta, Dirt, Lego Star Wars

Re: Help with Wii & 360 Games for Kids

I'm not sure about Open Season, but the other three XBox 360 games are multi-platform and also available on the Wii.

There are good reviews for Elebits, Raving Rabbids, Dewy's Adventure, and MySims. Not Zelda goood, just good. Elebits is a "rip the place apart" game, Dewy is a 3-D platformer, and MySims is a simplified version of The Sims. Rabbids is a mini-game collection. Some of the games are really fun and the atmosphere is very twisted, but the multi-player is turn-based.

You could always get WiiPlay if you don't have a second remote. It's bundled with a Wii Remote (nunchuck is separate).

For the 360 I would say the Star Wars Lego games would be fun enough. There is also Sonic 2 on Live Arcade but I dont know if you have setup your kids with their own profiles and how that would work out with Live games.

The other thing to keep in mind there are a number of other game options you can go with first gen XBox games, many can be had a very low price. Amazon is a good source of game reviews too.
