The New 20,000 MILLION MILES TO EARTH set is great, but...

WTF...no theatrical trailer? That trailer was included in the original release, but left off this latest, what would otherwise be considered a definitive set. Now, I understand there are music rights issues for some trailers (Paramount is notorious for using this as an excuse, when really it probably only applies in a handful of instances), but for a 1957 film? I doubt it, since the music in the trailer is by the film's composer. It seems inexplicable to me that this trailer was left off. Yes, I realize this subject has been brought up in countless threads, and that for many people it seems frivolous, but to me it seems like a case of pure laziness that the trailer, with its wonderful 50's graphics and construction, was simply ignored for this otherwise stellar release. Why is it such a damn difficult task to make such a set TRULY definitive by including this tiny, but massively entertaining, supplement? Sony, care to comment?

I hear ya. Look, I'm not a big extras guy .... but I think there is a certain continuity and (even) a historical perspective to showing how things were promoted back when.

But everyone has their hand out for the DVD gravy. It's not really fair to pin it just on the studio. Does the trailer contain any music NOT in the film? If so, the composer wants his cut and (likely) the musicians involved too. In that case (if that's the case) it could mean reduced profit margin for the studio. Money talks, we know what walks.
