The Angry Dog Food commercial was funny because it was in bad taste. As was Ambiguously Gay Duo. Except that was screamingly funny.

Also, didja catch the name of narrator for the Solid Gold sketch?

Did anybody watch when Bon Jovi was hosting? I didn't see the whole show, but I saw Bon Jovi sing twice, not the Foo Fighters.

Foo Fighters performed once, right after Weekend Update. They also briefly appeared in the digital short, "People Getting Punched Right Before Eating." I don't think I remember laughing so hard at an SNL segment ever.

I liked the skit at the end with Bon Jovi in the early 80's. The band wanted to call themselves something different and he was like "I was thinking of calling the band "Bon Jovi". It was funny.

Best show of the season but I can't deny that it was incredibly disappointing to have only one Foos song. They should have just had Bon Jovi be the musical guest and saved the Foos for later. I had considered doing the standby line for this show since I'm a big Foo fan and even though logistically it never would have worked out, I'm really glad for that.

Good episode.

Opener, game show (Wiig was hot), Dane cook, naming the band, and Barkley and Bjork were good.

Jon Bon Jovi was on Conan and talked about some ideas he had for sketches but they were turned down. They sounded pretty good. For a host who could act and isn't afraid to do anything for laughs, I was disappointed the writers had him playing himself so much.

The Sopranos impressions in that bit were pretty funny.

Overall a pretty decent episode with the highlight being NO DEEP HOUSE DISH!

Though I must say I agree with the notion to letting Bon Jovi just be the musical guest, and saving the Foo Fighters for another time. That idea HAD to have come up at one point, so I'm guessing perhaps the Foo Fighters could only commit to this one week (new tour?) so it was the case of now or never, and Bon Jovi had already been given the greenlight for 2 songs.

Either way, 3 really good music spots, a killer Digital Short (just make Samberg and his "team" of Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone the head writers already, before they leave for greener pastures!), a decent Update, and a few pretty good sketches like the "Ohhh!" gameshow and the Hader talkshow (always forget the name).

Yeah, he was on the Skin and Bones tour (or at least the concert for the TV special and DVD). I guess he is sticking around for this tour as well?

Huh, looks like Amy Winehouse won't be going on SNL now. And it ain't because of the writers' strike.

Wow, Horatio is skinny enough to have sex with Sarah Silverman...except lately, Sarah Silverman is too skinny to have sex with anything except a spider-monkey, which is why she and Jimmy play Scrabble all night.

Note to Feist and anyone else: once you sell your song as a commercial, you don't get to promote it on SNL any more (unless you're U2). Since Obama got all up in Hillary's NY turf, Hillary's gotta get even, but how?

Emcee an Eminem concert in Detroit?

Great episode!

I was hoping Brian Williams would be a good host based on his sense of humor shown on talk shows like Conan.

I think the only sketch that didn't work for me at all was the backstage at the Democratic debate.

Yes, the backstage sketch just dragged and wasn't particularly funny. I think they just wanted an excuse to dress Amy as Kucinich.

Overall, though, this was the best show of the season. Williams was a great host, and even though there was a lot of him playing a parody of himself, he busted out a Bronx accent for one sketch. The Digital Short was almost as good as the Peyton Manning United Way commercial, and Weekend Update was consistently funny.

Of course, they did have 3 weeks to prepare.

My feelings exactly. Great show otherwise, and it was nice to have a host who seemed prepared for a change, instead of relying on a teleprompter or cue cards. Williams' Bronx fireman was especially good.

I don't watch the show anymore (for various personal reasons), but for those of you who do, I have some news to share with you.

I don't know how to do the quote from the website thing, but this is what the New York Post announced recently.

"In its first dramatic move since the beginning of the Writers Guild strike, NBC has fired "nearly the entire production staff" of its struggling, late-night staple, "Saturday Night Live," sources told Page Six.

One tipster told us, " 'SNL' laid off all their staff until further notice. Their production staff, even long-term employees, were let go." Another source confirmed that "90 percent of the 'SNL' staff was fired."

And while The Washington Post reported yesterday that NBC might lay staff off at Jay Leno's "Tonight" show, "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" and "Last Call With Carson Daly" - all of which immediately went into rerun mode on Nov. 5 - those staffers would at least get paid for two more weeks. But an insider confirmed to us that "SNL" staffers got no severance.

Although no official announcement had been made as of last night about firings at any of NBC's late-night shows, multiple sources confirmed to us that "SNL" staffers learned of their axing yesterday morning. Reps for NBC declined comment."

And we're back.

Strong show last night, solidly funny with no really memorably stand out skits.

After assuming they put Keenan on a diet to play Obama, it turns out that Fred Armisen is now Obama. Visually, it totally works. The impression itself needs some tweaking.

The highlights for me were Weekend Update and the wedding toast. I did not get Carrie Underwood's outfit for her second song. I mean not only was it a mess, but I didn't even quite understand exactly what she was wearing.

The Annuale commercial was pretty good, made me LOL.

The new girl isn't too funny, but she does like showing off the ladies.

Too bad Carrie Underwood isn't showing off her legs like she did last April.

I really hope Don Pardo didn't kill himself trying to blow out all 90 of those candles.

The Digital Short was humorous, although not up to previous standards. The DVDs being avaiable "at the store" was funny.

The Annuale commercial was laugh out loud funny - highlight of the show.

Huckabee was good on Weekend Update. I like his self deprecating humor on shows like this and Colbert, it's just too bad the thought of him being President gives me the willies.

Watching it live and seeing the awful local commercials, "Virgania Horsen's Hot Air Balloon Rides" was just perfect and Wiig continues to be amazing.

Loved the Annuale commercial, and the digital short and Apprentice sketches were decent. When Huckabee concedes, Lorne Michaels oughta hire him, he was good.

Although I love 30 Rock, when she was on SNL, I was never a big fan of Tina Fey, and last night sort of reminded me why. When Steve Martin came up during the monologue, all I could think of was, 'If he's there, why don't they just have him host?'

This epsidoe was alright.

Did anyone else have lip-synch problems with the show? It was especially bad during Obama's talking, and I was thinking someone else was doing his voice.

I do like the "Bitches get stuff done"

The Annualle commercial was right on.

The hour long Hillary commercial was long and pronounced, but the opening debate "we're absolutely in the tank for Obama" was pretty much how I saw the debate too. Even as someone with not that political leaning, the presidential debate came across as a fawning session.
