Battlestar Galactica Season 4 - Page 6

Re: Battlestar Galactica Season 4

Yep. Had seasons 1 and 2 on DVD, and 2 DVRs with the season 3 episodes just sitting there waiting for me, plus Razor (might have to rent or buy the DVD for the extra footage/bits).

Gear mentioned in this thread:

Re: Battlestar Galactica Season 4

Despite the writers possibly going back to work tomorrow, there is still no indication that the final 10 episodes of the show won't be saved til the 2009 season.

I assume by that you mean you can't stand only getting one episode a week, rather than being able to breeze through a whole season on DVDs in two days? Welcome to our lot...

BSG is the one show that I simply can't wait to watch, and each week I can't wait for the next. In contrast, for instance, as Lost was broadcast here, I simply recorded episodes, was happy to leave it on the HDD for a while and only recently breezed through the final chunk of them in quick succession -- which in some respects is a good thing, otherwise you forget what's happened previously?

i don't require instant gratification. i wait until complete seasons are out... then enjoy it on my own time (typically straight through .

'Caprica' pilot greenlit by Scifi Channel

Re: Battlestar Galactica Season 4

they need to cancel ghost and scare shows and concentrate on beefing up SF instead of horror. the management seems to be confused horror and 'SF' quite a lot. yeah i know there's a lot of intersection but they don't get "IT". spend more money on series like BSG!

Re: Battlestar Galactica Season 4

Ok have given this some serious thought, and I do like about 50% of what Sci-Fi does, problem is that NBC/Universal, actual has different networks to peddle their shows and some times we don’t get the right mix, USA, Sci-Fi & Chiller, what is the difference, well if you have direct TV Chiller is not part of the basic package, hence shows like ghost hunters, which belong on Chiller are shown on SF, ECW which belongs any place else is killing another time slot. Every Saturday night has some horrible B movie, and this coming from someone who loves classic 50 B movies, but sorry Rock Monster is not the Monolith Monsters. Then the other problem is what gets hyped, I know I will tick some off, but I don’t get the whole Stargate thing. A good mix of original programming along with classic series set to a normal schedule, would really help, that doesn’t meant Enterprise Mondays, that means like Twilight Zone, followed by Outer Limits, followed by Enterprise, followed by Original series, one night a week other than Saturday needs to be a movie, like Wednesday, because everybody else in America is probably watching Idol.

When they make the chiller Channel as part of the Basic package, then they can take most of the horror and move it to where it belongs, now for everyone else on here does fantasy belong on sci-fi as well. But I am hoping that they give RDM and company longer than a 2 hour movie for Caprica, Biggest beef with Sci-Fi, is that you have a one hour program that equates to roughly 43 minuets of screen time. Think the network needs to limit the commercial interruptions this season, and let it have the same running time as Star Trek TOS had, 52- 56 minuets a show, let them tell the story with out having to chop things down.

Unfortunately since less commercials mean less money, there's no way that's going to happen but I think a reasonable compromise would be that when the show runs long, let its time slot be 65 or 75 or 90 minutes instead of 60 minutes. That seems like a win win situation because the prodcuers wouldn't have to cut things down and the Sci-Fi Channel would have more ad time to sell during what must be their highest rated show.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Season 4

its the last season, the cast and crew already know it, and if SciFi wants to build great buzz for Caprica, then why not limit the comercial interuptions, hell half of them are for other "Crap" shows on SciFi anyhow.

They'd be making less money from selling ads or they'd have less ads promoting their own shows. As you said, it's the last season so they're losing their biggest show and they want all the BSG viewers to move over to another one of their shows so they're going to promote everything they've got to keep viewers. They're a business and when it comes down to money or a show, they're always going to choose money.

Anyone catch the cast of BsG reading the Top 10 list on Letterman last night?

Here's the link to it.

The tag team of Tigh and Six were hilarious.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Season 4

I thought it was interesting how "fake" the costumes and makeup looked under the flat lighting and unmanipulated (and thereby unforgiving) HD video quality. Six in particular looked more costumed than the other cast members, reminding me of the made-up-as-replicants models offering photo opps at Comic Con.

It's about time they okayed Caprica. They've been talking about it for years now.

And was the only funny part of the thing.

Did Six look a bit bustier to you guys? Or was it just me?

Re: Battlestar Galactica Season 4

hrm i thought i posted my thoughts about the letterman appearance here.

it was kinda' cheesy and stupid from letterman:
1. the audiences were just clapping because of the applause sign in the audience. they have NO clue wtf BSG is it's one of the best series EVAR made and no one has seen it!!!

2. the costume was weird, maybe it works under the dark lighting, but on a show like letterman they should have made adjustments. #6 was still hawt though .

3. because of the above 2, it was extremely awkward. i think some of the actors have been on stage for theater, but some of them felt nervous and stuff. it was just so weird.

4. the demographics were like over 40+ or somn. just EVEN MORE WEIRD!

i mean fans get it and luv it, but damn it was weird. the audience had NO clue. dave had NO clue. what the frak were they doing there?! they should have been on either leno or conan. i think conan would have made an awesome appearance.

NBC/Universal owns the Sci-Fi channel, so I can see the corporate suits trying to pump up some last season ratings any way they can. But it just felt so WRONG. We couldn't have any interviews with the cast (especially EJO!)? Everyone looked uncomfortable up there reading off the teleprompter. I'm sure the audience were saying "who the hell are these people and why should we care?"

Still can't wait for the start of the new season!

isn't it because nbc universal distributes their products through CBS? look@star trek. paramount/nbc universal property, but distributed through CBS's online video for TOS's complete series online.

Since when it any Trek an NBC/Universal property? Hasn't it always been owned by Paramount lock, stock and barrel? TOS just aired on NBC...

I loved the Letterman "Top Ten." I didn't realize that they were gonna be on so I was just tickled when I saw them. Ty's line was classic.

So does anyone in here live in NYC or LA? Have you seen these ads/fliers for the free BSG-pizza: ACED Magazine | Get a FREE Frakkin' Pizza - During the season premiere of Battlestar Galact... | Piz

Looks like a pretty fun promotion - "I wanna order a frakkin pizza!" LOL!

What toppings would be on a FRAKKIN' pizza?

Re: Battlestar Galactica Season 4

the new yorker probably won't get it and use their natural f-word .

i'd love some o' that promo here. i have scifi HD now and can't wait to experience BSG in 5.1. 2bad SF puts all those annoying video banners up on the screen during the show. it's SOOOoooo damned distracting... now in HD!

I know - I keep envisioning little vipers and raptors made out of mini pepperoni slices but I think I'm taking it a step too far. Would be cool to see that box though....

Although Letterman's house band playing "All Along the Watchtower" as the cast took the stage was a nice, subtle little touch. And we know damn well Olmos relished delivering the "no exit-strategy" quip.

I'll say it right now, though -- I'd gladly cross an ocean of dying kittens with inter-species AIDS for a crack at Grace Park.
