Re: NFL Fantasy Football 2007 Discussion Thread

Gary,

Considering the health problems of both Harrison and Dallas Clark, I'm not sure I'd make that trade. I was trying to acquire Harrison up through last week, and now I'm glad the owner turned down my offers. I just do not think he'll be healthy in time for me to use him to get to the playoffs -- our regular season ends after Week 14, and then our playoffs are the next two weeks. When healthy, Clark would be nice to have, but Olsen's not a bad backup plan, and he's healthy.

I've been living through the same tight end problem with Heap, and I'm about ready to cut him and go with Donald Lee the rest of the way.

This thread has been quiet for awhile. How is everybody's teams doing?

In my work league, I dropped the last two games to fall to 4th place. Or 4th in the standings, I am actually 3rd place.

In HTF II, I am in first place...first in the standings, yea baby. Take that fellow HTF (rebel) Scum !

But losing Adrian Peterson will hurt, he was a scoring machine. Hopefully he will be back in time for the playoffs.

Wow, it's been a month since anyone posted to this thread. Down to the wire time and I have one dilemma -- McGahee or Barber. I like any RB against Miami but Barber's been on a tear lately and is playing against a battered Philly D. What to do?

That's a tough one, Michael. I'd probably play the matchup and go with McGahee, but Barber has been great lately. I've been riding him lately in my dynasty league.

As for my money league team, I just missed out on the top tier playoffs. The league has 12 teams divided into three division. The three division winners and one wildcard team make the playoffs. I tied for the wildcard spot after setting a single game league scoring record last week, but lost on the tiebreaker due to a head-to-head loss to the team I was tied with.

Fortunately, we also have playoffs for the other 8 teams. The next four play in the 2nd tier, and the bottom four play in the "toilet bowl" tier. So, I have a little money left to play for these next two weeks.

Good luck to everyone who made it to their league playoffs.

Re: NFL Fantasy Football 2007 Discussion Thread

I was thrilled to make the playoffs in my money league (4 of the 12 teams) after a rough start to the season. Fortunately I drafted three great RBs who stayed healthy (Addai, McGahee, Barber) and picked up Derek Anderson week 1 when it was clear that Bulger was going to stink this year. I also sneaked into my HTF league playoffs with a losing record and made it past round 1. Just hoping for the best this weekend.

Re: NFL Fantasy Football 2007 Discussion Thread

I'm not sure how I did it but I won my league this year. I went 9-5 overall after picking #10.

My final team ended up like this:
Drew Brees or Derek Anderson
Marion Barber
Ryan Grant - last 5 weeks ever since Reggie Bush got hurt for me.
Reggie Wayne
Heath Miller or Deion Branch
Kicker has been Nick Folk of Dallas
Defense was Pittsburgh or the New York Giants.

The other guy I just beat had 2 losses all year.
His team was:
Tom Brady
Clinton Portis
Willis McGahee
Randy Moss
Dewayne Bowe
Tony Gonzalez
Shayne Graham(K)
Minnesota's D.

He's been scoring points like a madman all year but ran out of gas. WHEW.
