Someone asked why, I answered. I didn't expect a diatribe for doing it, but thanks anyway.

I think I found another "bug." I have my player hooked up to a switched outlet. But everytime when I power up the player through that switched outlet, it annoyingly asks for the date and time. I've never had a DVD player do this. Is this some way around this?

The simplest solution: connect the player to an unswitched outlet.

Has anyone compared the 1080p/24 output of the A30/A35 to that of the XA2? Any improvements or differences?

Really? I had no idea that would work. Man, I wish I had thought of that myself.

Like I said, in over 10 years over owning 7 different DVD players from 3 different manufacturers, never had to worry about that. BUG!

And seriously, green eco etc, I don't want to waste power on machines that don't need it when I'm not using them.

Does anyone here own a HD-A35 that is hooked up to a brand new Denon AVR-3808ci, Denon AVR-4308ci or Pioneer Elite VSX-94TXH reciever?

Does the HD-A35 actually output Dolby True HD to your receiver and how well is it working? Have you had any problems with the sound becoming uncycronized with the video? This is a problem that my HD-A1 has from time to time and I was wondering if thy actually fixed it yet? Also does the HD-A35 bitstream actuall full DTS-HD Master Audio? There are a good number of titles in Europe that offer DTS MA and it would be nice if the HD-A35 actually can bitsteam it to a HDMI 1.3 receiver.

Hello Don May,

Does your Sony STR-DA5300 doing the decoding or is the HD-A35? How well has your Sony worked decoding DD+ and Dolby True HD?

I am looking to buy a Denon AVR-3808ci very soon and am looking into upgrading my 1st generation HD-A1. I really would like to be able to bitstream Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio to the Denon AVR-3808ci. My Sony BDP-S300 is also getting upgraded to a Denon DVD-2500BT later in 2008.
