Any rumblings about Barnaby Jones?

This is one show that I would love to see come out.... it's been out of circualtion for so long, I haven't seen it in syndication in 20 years. Buddy Ebsen sure was a ratings juggernaut for CBS consistently for the better part of 20 year, wasn't he? A show like this wouldn't even get on the air now... i'm sure it it would skew "too old". Does Fox own this? It's too bad Lee Meriweather didn't do too much after this, I thought her to be a lovely, competent actress.

I, too, would like to see Barnaby Jones eventually surface on DVD. The show's got a rep as being one of the first of the "geezer mysteries" thanks to the presence of folksy Buddy Ebsen in the title role, but if you've ever watched it you know that most of the villains and miscreants on this program were some seriously sick, screwed-up individuals. I often wondered if the perps on this show were the ones who couldn't appear on Hawaii Five-O because they couldn't afford the airfare to Honolulu.

There's A LOT of Police and Detective Shows I'd buy in a Heartbeat IF they ever get to DVD. Among them are Barnaby Jones, Cannon, The F.B.I., & Mannix, to name but a few. Let us hope these (and others) will come out in the near Future.

Well, things have been looking up somewhat in the last 18 months for this genre. It was nothing but a vast wasteland for 70's detective and crime drama for quite sometime... but since 05, we've seen Kojak, Police Woman, Hawaii 5-0, The Rookies, Rockford Files, Streets of San Francisco.... let's hope the trend continues and we get Barnaby Jones, along with several others.

But that's not a good thing seeing as how Kojak and Police Woman appear to be abandoned. I'd pick up Barnaby Jones in a heatbeat (it's on my list of about 32 or 33 shows that are unreleased), but even if we do get it, what are the chances of getting all 8 seasons?
