What is your favorite You Tube video? - Page 9

Re: What is your favorite You Tube video?

Since Mike brought the "border" thing up....after researching a tad bit more, I've now got a question for Mike (or anybody else) ---

How did the previous YouTube videos manage to get posted without any colored border around them?

I just noticed that on every YouTube page, the embeddable code defaults to the "border on red" position, so even without pulling down the Customize menu option, any video copied-&-pasted from any webpage on the YouTube site should have the red border in place.

See the trouble you started, Mike?

Re: What is your favorite You Tube video?

I don't get border code at all in my embeds. It must take it from your preferred settings.

Re: What is your favorite You Tube video?

All I wanna know is why people care what color the border is lol?

Yeah, I know why now. It remembers your last custom selections from the last time you were there. Otherwise, the default setting leaves the "Show Border" check box unchecked.

Technically, this may qualify as a multi-thread post, but I wanted to share one of my European Vignettes with all of you.

I just learned about this from EW. A favorite video of mine, redone.

This is the best how-to video ever. I've watched it three times and don't know what I'm learning how to do, though. Hmm.

Edit: They don't let me embed it. Or her. Heh.

Re: What is your favorite You Tube video?

Good one, Greg.

After it started, I was surprised it was played straight. For some reason I thought something else was going to happen.

GREAT still picture. Funny how that works.

In the sidebar, she's the star of several how-tos. I haven't seen them yet. The one was sensory overload enough for a Sunday.

This one is highly political. Ignore that aspect and just enjoy the flashes from the past.

Re: What is your favorite You Tube video?

Mike, when I play that, it says it's no longer available. The link still works, though.

At :25, she says, "You can get a little bit bigger than these ones if you like." How would that be possible, and why would I ever want to?

That pipe-cleavagener seems to be the most important part of the demo.

Like her face too.

i know you deleted that comment greg but you're right with bringing it up.

keep the politics out please.

Re: What is your favorite You Tube video?

If it's "highly political", please don't post it here. It doesn't matter whether or not it's intended satirically, and disclaimers to "ignore the political content" don't help. A number of links have been deleted. Please don't repost them, and please don't post similar links in the future.

Re: What is your favorite You Tube video?

Can't say that it is a favorite. I'm just not sure where else to post it. This is f'ing unbelievable. This guy really is Sierra Hotel. I've watched this more than a dozen times and it still amazes me.

Um. Wow!

Is that for real?!? Not a stunt, right? I don't know how anyone could do that.

Definitely not a stunt that he intended to do. I've seen videos of guys doing this with scale model aircraft that mimic the type of aircraft that this fellow was flying, but I had never seen it done with a full size bird until now. The fact is is that pulling that off was 50% skill and 50% shithouse rat luck.

I know a bunch of YouTubers have been posting about it being fake but I cannot see any edits and the plane's scale against the background looks right to me. Also see this interview with the pilot.

James Andersson - Gallery

Basically, these types of planes have a power to weight ratio better than one. In a knife edge attitude like that the pilot is basically flying on the prop, not the wing. I've flown models in that attitude, so it is doable. I've just never had to do it with only one wing.

Re: What is your favorite You Tube video?

it doesnt even look real, especially from the point it hits the ground.

The edits happen during the many times the plane is out of focus and not even in the shot.
it takes one huge bounce then just sticks to the ground.

plus it looks like a cartoon.
plane comes to a stop with the missing wing conveniently out of view.
fake.

Re: What is your favorite You Tube video?

Well I'll consider it real until the pilot admits that he was lying in his interview. I'm sure that would do wonders for his reputation on the airshow circuit. As for turning to "conveniently" hide the wing.....that is ridiculous. He turned away from the crowd which shows good judgement. He is not going to turn into the crowd to prove that he isn't faking. He ground looped to stop as fast as possible.

Also, the control movements look entirely consistent. He has full left rudder to keep the nose up along with full power. At the last minute he neutralizes the rudder. He cuts to idle and then kicks right rudder and gives it full up left aileron to initiate a left roll. The single bounce did seem funny but I chalk that up to the fact that the bounce is caused by energy being released from the spring steel landing gear. The plane would stick after the bounce because there is little to no lift being generated over the remaining wing, so the plane is not "flying".

Re: What is your favorite You Tube video?

Edwin, it's no big deal.
you can believe it was was real, i just don't.

Re: What is your favorite You Tube video?

You're right it's no big deal, but you listed a few reasons for why you think it is fake so I figured it was fair to list a few for why I felt the opposite. Although, I admit I'm curious as to what others who fly think.
