Rolling Stones - The Biggest Bang

The Biggest Bang, a 4 DVD set is out.
I’d seen amateur footage of the Stones in Zilker Park singing, “Bob Wills is Still the King”.
Considering the number of stops on their tour, and the fact that, as Mick said, “We’ve never done this before in front of an audience…” why would it be on the DVD?
Well, because the first disc in the box set is almost 90 minutes of the Austin concert!
Beautifully filmed, shots so close you can easily read the print on Charlie’s sticks. There are helicopter shots showing the crowd, the stage, and downtown Austin at the same time.
Crystal clear surround sound.
I want to explore more of this set, but I have to get up in less than 4 hours.

Re: Rolling Stones - The Biggest Bang

Guess I got an early copy, found this at the Hollywood Reporter:

"LONDON -- A four-DVD set of the Rolling Stones' giant "A Bigger Bang" tour is to be released worldwide via Universal Music Group on July 30.

Called "The Biggest Bang," and featuring seven hours of content, the DVD set is based on the band's global tour, which started in 2005 and is still on going until this August.

The "Bigger Bang" juggernaut is recognized as the top-grossing tour in history and is expected to surpass the $500 million-gross mark this summer.

The DVD set will include performances of more than 55 songs, such as all-time classics "Honky Tonk Women," "Sympathy for the Devil," and "Satisfaction."

Among other highlights is the full-length February 2006 mega concert on the Copacabana Beach, in Rio de Janeiro, which attracted about 2 million spectators.

"Four Flicks was great, but practise makes perfect and 'The Biggest Bang' is even better, it's got all the right stuff," said Michael Cohl, founder of Concert Productions International, A Bigger Bang's promoter, in a statement.

Behind-the-scenes footage will include clips of Mick Jagger and the band in action at the Super Bowl, during an intimate show at a Toronto club, plus performances in the Far East and South America."

No, you don't have an early copy - it came out in June at Best Buy. Dunno what's up with the 7/30 date, unless it means other retailers will carry it then...
