What happened to the review and discussion threads here? People are starting to discuss details. I haven't seen this flick yet. I just want to get a general idea about the film's quality; not read about the injokes.

Usually "details" are what get discussed after a film has been released. I always avoid threads about films that are in release if I don't want to know what happens in them.

Yeah, but this thread isn't making any distinction between reviews and discussion. It seems to be both. In cases like this one, people should use spoiler tags.
I've noticed that there seems to be less and less official review and discussion threads. Has the policy changed? Is there less interest which makes separate threads unsustainable? Or does everyone prefer to mix discussion with reviews? Anyway things seem to be going back to a more informal format, like when I first joined. I don't mind that as long as people spoilerize story details.

Seems like we have gotten away from dedicated "discussion" thread and "reviews only" threads.

Edwin:
I also miss the official review and discussion threads.

However, it is sometimes quite difficult to distinguish if certain comments are more apropos to "discussion" or "review".

Re: Official Movie Review and Discussion Threads (split from DIE HARD 4 thread)
To add to Crawdaddy's point: More and more HTF members appear to be skipping theatrical viewing and waiting for DVD. Those who still go to theaters seem to be putting their comments elsewhere (e.g., the annual "track the films you watch" thread). Once it became clear that posting activity in dedicated threads was falling off, we decided to leave it up to the membership which films would have active threads of their own, rather than have a bunch of official ones with little or no activity.M.

Michael, I certainly understand that, but why not reserve "official" threads for the movies that most HTF members are likely to see in the theater (such as Transformers, etc.). Seems like the official threads could still serve a purpose (i.e. keeping spoiler free comments out of reviews) for the big movies that most are likely to see in the theater.
I know I greatly respect my fellow HTF'ers views on film, and use the reviews to help me make good choices about what I see, but I'm usually not willing to wade through spoilers just to read a review.

That would be great. Thanks for listening!
