Chris,
Except for a few years in the 70s (I think) Disney had a weekly hour-long show. The first was titled simply "Disneyland" and debuted before the theme park was openned-circa 1954 or 55 Episodes were divided between Adventure Land, Fantasy Land, and Tomorrowland.
This was, remember, in the mid 1950s when most cities only had 3 television stations (ABC, NBC, CBS) and everyone used an antenna to get a picture.
"Disneyland" was truly a weekly major event, and pioneered some tv ideas that persist to this day-a great example would be the miniseries as exemplified by the Davy Crockett episodes--every kid on the block had a "coonskin cap" after the first episode was run. Tomorrowland shows used Disney's animation to almost literally take us on a trip to the moon. Many of the show's episodes were filmed in color even though they were not broadcast as such originally.
Walt Disney really wanted to have his show in color but ABC refused, so eventually (mid-60s or so) he switched to NBC and changed the show's name to "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color". This show along with Bonanza sold millions of families their first color tv sets.
It's somewhat ironic that the network that originally refused to run Disneyland in color is now owned by Disney.
