why the hey hasn't the 3rd season of the white shadow come out on dvd yet
season and 1 and 2 have came out last year and the year before that

I have SEason One and Two on DVD and to me those were the best season but I will like to finish what I started So I am Waiting for season three With You.

i just picked up the first season of the white shadow for $7.99 from Best Buy in Canada. I like this show and will be picking up the 2nd season shortly. I just hope the 3rd season comes up, but, you never know. I have been waiting several years for shows like Growing Pains, SWAT, The Rookies, Silver Spoons, CHiPs, etc. I can go on and one around the shows that have been stalled. I have been collected dvds for several years and know the frustration of stalled serioes.

are you surprise with another stalled series? I am still waiting for SWAT to be completed along with The Rookies. There are so many series that have released a few of their season then become stalled. Maybe Home Theatre Forum can do another online chat with Warner. It would be nice to also approach Sony and Fox. This way we could discuss issue with stakeholders about releases.

I like to see the last season of this show released as well. I remember waiting a few years for the last season of Starsky and Hutch. It gets frustrating when you would like to complete your series, but, the last season takes so long to be released.

Does Fox even put out any back catalogue DVDs any more or are they done with it like Sony? They pretty much got shamed into finishing Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Mary Tyler Moore but besides those 2, have they released any pre-1990 shows in the last 5 years? Funny thing is, they actually produced a featurette on White Shadow for inclusion on the last season, which of course will now never be seen. Great going, Fox.

Could Shout! Factory re-release the first two seasons of The White Shadow on DVD on single-sided discs, then debut the third season on DVD? I'm not the biggest fan of double-sided discs. I didn't realise some of The White Shadow had been released on DVD. Much enjoyed seeing Ken Howard on The Colbys (and Dynasty), so when I read a while ago about The White Shadow and that he was in the cast I was hoping it would be released on DVD.

Could they? No. For one thing, the first two seasons are still in print. Secondly, how many people would actually re-buy the first two seasons? Enough to justify the high price Fox would charge for the show? I know I wouldn't buy it.. If double sided discs bothered me that much, I would just burn copies onto other discs. Certainly much cheaper than buying it over again.

It's sad that we'll likely not see the last season of this terrific little drama, truly an oasis in the desert of late 70's-early 80's American TV, unless Fox starts an MOD program. Richard, if you've not seen the show, I highly recommend it.

I have White Shadow S1 and watch it from time to time. It is sad that studios like Fox do not released the final seasons for previously released show. I have a few shows that i like to see completed:

1. Night Gallery
2. SWAT
3. Charlie's Angels
4. Early Edition
