Can I modify the autorun popup window?

When I place a DVD video disc into my PC the Windows AutoRun window pops up with the usual "Windows can perform the same action each time you insert a disk..." message. For the past 6 months or more when I select PowerDVD from the AutoRun window, nothing at all happens. More recently, I uninstalled another DVD application but it still appears in the AutoRun popup window minus the icon.

Can the Windows XP AutoRun popup window be modified in any way? I'd like to be able to start PowerDVD from that window once again and I'd also like to remove reference to the software that is no longer installed if at all possible. I have Windows XP Pro SP2 with all of the latest updates and patches installed.

Thanks.

Sure, you can use the tweakui powertoy to manipulate the autoplay menu and correct the link to powerDVD while also removing the unwanted menu item.

Re: Can I modify the autorun popup window?

I had actually downloaded TweakUI a little bit before posting my question the other night and assumed that it didn't do what I wanted it to. When I get to the AutoPlay Handlers section, I can't edit the Power DVD listing. I just get the edit window with most items grayed out and the message "You can edit descriptions only for handlers created by TweakUI." I also don't see the listing for the software that is no longer installed on my PC. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Re: Can I modify the autorun popup window?

I found a program called Autoplay Repair that seems to work fine. This thread started me thinking about the issue and so I googled a bit.
