Emails show as "Spam"

Thread Starter
I have been told by several recipients that my some of my emails show as "spam" on their computers or are automatically sent to the deleted folder. Using Yahoo mail to send and nothing controversial in the header or the text.

Anyone any idea as to what might be causing this?

Thanks,

Brian

Re: Emails show as "Spam"

Depending on their spam settings, a lot of spam blockers (if set to a higher priority) will block email addresses from Yahoo, Google, AOL, etc.

We recently had our spam filter priorities increased at work and I've had Yahoo and AOL email go into junk folders.

Brian,

Ask your recipients to add your address to their e-mail software's "whitelist" or "allowed senders list". Sometimes, having an address listed in the e-mail software's "address book" will serve the same purpose.

Thanks, looks as if I will have to use a different provider for my email.

Re: Emails show as "Spam"

Brian, your recipients can easily train their email apps to recognize your address....of course, that doesn't help if they don't know you are emailing them (i.e for the first time). But it is probably safest to use a non-free type of email service, since you may run into more spam issues when sending to people who don't know to look in their junk folders for misdirected emails.
